The future St. Thomas Tommie had an excellent night in the Dallas Center-Grimes Region Final win over Humboldt. Miner had 17 points, five assists, four rebounds, and seven steals in the Mustangs’ win. Miner is a lethal scorer from all three levels, and she made two of her four three-point attempts and has been easily the go-to scorer all year for the No. 1 team in 4A. Miner will be a crucial determinant in how 4A plays out in Des Moines.
Abby Tuttle Abby Tuttle 5'8" | SG North Polk | 2025 State IA
The North Polk wing is one of the most dynamic wings in Iowa. Tuttle is also one of the most versatile kids you can have on your team. The sophomore scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds, and earned four assists in the Comets Region Final win over Bondurant-Farrar. What I love about Tuttle’s game the most is how she succeeds everywhere she’s played on the floor. She has a knack for being in the right spot to make the right plays.
Alliyah Thompson Alliyah Thompson 6'1" | SF Ballard | 2024 State IA
Ballard has been one of the most consistent teams in Iowa over the past few seasons. Thompson has been one of the better kids in 4A. Although the junior didn’t have her best night offensively, she was excellent in every other facet of the game. The Bombers junior grabbed ten rebounds and dished out three assists. Thompson also blocked a pair of shots in the win to cap off the win. Ballard has been consistently competitive over the years and will be a tough out in the state tournament because of their ability to stay in games and compete.
The future South Dakota State Jackrabbit had an outstanding game to send her Glenwood team to state. Hopp scored 30 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in the Rams’ 65-45 win over Pella. Hopp also flirted with a triple-double with as Hopp eight assists. Hopp was one of the standouts of the regional rounds. The future Jackrabbit had a historic game against Pella that sent her team to the Wells Fargo Center, and with games like that Hopp and the Rams won’t be an easy team to beat in Des Moines.
