A lot of schools are cancelling today in anticipation of the messy roads. What better to look at on an ice day than “slippery” players, athletes that make it really tough for defenders to stay in front of. Here are 5 slippery players on an ice day!
Bynum is a testament to where hard work and a dedication to being great can take an athlete. It all starts with her handles, her ability to change speeds and her use of those traits together. These skills allow Bynum to be very slippery for defenders and force the defense to rotate.

I’m taking a little bit of a different approach to this one. Talcott is slippery on the defensive end. An offensive player may think they have a step or an advantage, and then, the ball is gone. Talcott has strong defensive vision, gets in good position and has quick hands and reaction time.
This is good timing since Sanders was just named Miss PSL. She’s been leaving defenders in the dust for a while now. Sanders gains steam quickly with the ball and has great footwork, not just at the rim or at the start of her dribble combo, but throughout the entirety of her drive. She has elite blow by speed as well.
Barriger is a talented floor general that has a knack for guiding an offense. She’s very slippery in the sense that she has an innate ability to create space. Barriger always keeps the defense at bay which allows her to quickly and accurately feed open teammates. She’s a lead guard prospect to keep an eye on late in the season.

Asberry has had my attention since her performance at the Prep Girls Hoops Top 250. She runs the floor quickly and smoothly which makes it very hard for defenses to keep her in front of them as she can get lost by the D in transition or just flat out beat them back. Asberry makes good and quick decision while on the move which enhances her speed.
