Sanders led her Renaissance team to the Breslin last season, where they fell in the Semi-Finals to Rockford and finished with a 24-2 record. She was a 1st-team All-State selection for the Associated Press averaging 11 PPG. I expect big things for Sanders during her Senior season, and she could be in the running for Division 1 Player of the Year.

The senior lead guard was in prime form on Sunday. First of all, I was very impressed with the leadership she displayed. She was vocal on both ends and directed traffic for her team. Sanders’ on ball defense was terrific. She picked up at halfcourt and applied pressure. This resulted directly in offense on the other end, where she showed that she could both finish as well as dish the ball off for an assist. Sanders showed off the 3 point range on her jumper as well.

Sanders is as mentally tough as they come and she’s showed that since high school season last year. She knows how to win and she knows what it takes to win. Sanders is the type of scrappy guard that a coach wants to give the ball in crunch time. She makes smart plays and she makes the right plays.

Sanders took it to another level during high school season. She won Miss PSL and has raked in a collection of All-State recognitions. Sanders is playing with the Michigan Storm and will test herself in the GUAA. She has the chance to really stand out as a premier guard. Sanders has an explosive first step and can play defense the entire length of the floor.

This is good timing since Sanders was just named Miss PSL. She’s been leaving defenders in the dust for a while now. Sanders gains steam quickly with the ball and has great footwork, not just at the rim or at the start of her dribble combo, but throughout the entirety of her drive. She has elite blow by speed as well.
