Elite players have a way of just continuing to get better as the season goes on and [player_tooltip player_id='216688' first='Caitlin' last='Kramer'] fits that description. Air Academy may be the 7th seed, but they are still contenders as long as Caitlin is on the court. In her first-round matchup against Thompson Valley, she stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points on 11-16 shooting, as well as 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. As the next year approaches Air Academy will host Littleton with a chance to go to the Great 8 on the line.

Vista Peak was able to host the first round of the 5A state tournament this pasted Tuesday and pull off the 64-44 win over Stanley Lake. With [player_tooltip player_id='361566' first='Eianna' last='Jackson'] being the lead guard with 19 points and 8 assists. Vista Peak is a team that could possibly shake up the bracket if Eianna can keep up this level of play. She is already a lockdown defender that takes the challenge of guarding the opposing team's best player.

Lauren Gensert- Centaurus

Centaurus has had an up-and-down year but has shown a lot of grit and willingness to do what it takes to win and a huge reason for this is Lauren Gensert. She has been a steady hand on both sides of the ball for the Warriors. In their 46-33 win over Grand Junction Central Lauren had a 16-point and 6 rebounds output to get her team to the next round. Friday night they will travel to Windsor for the Sweet 16 to try and get some payback for a loss they suffered earlier in the season.
