Braymer took home the championship trophy with a victory over Higbee. Host Tina-Avalon defeated Brunswick in the third-place game. Here is a look at some of the top standout players at the tournament.
Lauren Spillman (Higbee): The talented 2026 guard scored a team-high 17 points in the championship game against Braymer. She has very good 3-point range and one of the quickest releases on her shot that I’ve seen from anyone in the state. She can also post up with her strength and hit a very nice turnaround jumper on the baseline.
Karissa Rogers (Braymer): The 2024 guard was selected the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after leading Braymer to the championship. She scored 10 points in the finals against Higbee, including a couple of big buckets in the fourth quarter. She was excellent in the open court with her speed and she could also hit the runner in the lane and the 3-pointer.
Raylee Hawkins (Braymer): A 2023 guard who scored a team-high 11 points in the championship game. She attacks the basket well and she makes good use of ball fakes to get defenders off balance and open up her driving lanes. She is also a good rebounder who has good defensive instincts.
Kadie Runkles (Tina-Avalon): A 2023 forward who was the most dominant inside player that I watched in the tournament. When she caught the ball, she was an automatic double-team, but she passed it out well to open teammates. She scored 21 points in her team’s victory in the third-place game. She has good footwork and a variety of moves to get buckets in the post. The lefty also has a nice touch inside.
Jordan Meseberg (Braymer): The 2023 guard tied for a team high of 11 points in the championship game. She handled the ball well and she was very good in the open court. She is an excellent passer who used her vision to find the open teammate.
Ronnie Welch Ronnie Welch 5'7" | CG Higbee | 2025 State MO (Higbee): A 5’8″ 2025 guard who is a whirlwind of activity with a motor that never stops when she is on the floor. She is constantly moving on offense without the ball and looking to attack when she has the ball. On the defensive end, she is a ball-hawk who will also shoot the passing lanes looking for steals.
Cadence Meyer (Brunswick): A 5’10” 2025 forward who has the versatility to excel in the post or on the perimeter. She used her length to block shots on the defensive end. She has a nice turnaround jumper in the lane and she could also step out and hit the 3-pointer to stretch the floor.
Isabelle Welch (Higbee): A 2024 forward who scored 13 points in the championship game. She is a solid inside player who could get out of her area to grab rebounds. She could score in the paint and also hit the jumper from the elbow.
Addyson Sweem (Braymer): A 5’4″ 2023 guard who has good speed and quickness and she played with a lot of pace. She penetrated very well in the lane and she could score on a very effective runner.
