The Lamar Lady Warriors and the Salem Lady Greyhounds will battle it out for the crown on Saturday, March 11th. Below is a list of top performers that did not make the championship game. These student-athletes played a vital role in their school’s qualification for a state tournament appearance;
Bergman H.S.-Led by senior swing guard Maddi Holt Maddi Holt 5'7" | CG Bergman | 2023 State AR and post Madeline Moon, this duo won’t repeat as state champs this year, but with the play of sophomore shooter Kiersten Lowry Kiersten Lowry 5'3" | CG Bergman | 2025 State AR and guard play of junior Ruby Trammell, pictured above, look for the Lady Panthers to make another bid next season.
Glen Rose H.S.-The Lady Beavers qualified for state tournament play with a swarming defense led by seniors Ashlee Stafford and Sydney Riggan. Glen Rose H.S. could make another bid next season with the leadership of talented sophomores 5’4″ Zavery May and 5’6″ Kaitlyn Stevens.
Episcopal Collegiate H.S.-Senior swing guard Ashauni Corley Ashauni Corley 5'8" | CG Episcopal Collegiate | 2023 State AR and 5’11’ post Riley Brady carried the Lady Wildcats to consecutive state tournament bids. This streak will not end soon with the addition of freshmen Laney Marsh, Cydney Sanders Cydney Sanders 5'8" | PG Baptist Preparatory | 2026 State AR , Bijou Porchay, and Elois Moore. Watch out for this group to make some noise!
Fouke H.S.-The Lady Panthers are known to play a ton of people. This is a very balanced team led by seniors Savannah and Logan Smith. But the future will ride on 5’7″ sophomore swing guard Kendall Haworth Kendall Haworth 5'7" | SF Fouke | 2025 State AR and 5’10” post Nailah Zetrenne.
McGehee H.S.-The first-time appearance for the Lady Owls was led by senior Saniya Easter Saniya Easter 5'7" | PF McGehee | 2023 AR . Returning for a possible second appearance in 2024 is a very strong 5’9″ junior forward Cynara Robinson and a very quick 5’8″ junior swing guard Amiah Esaw.
Helena Central H.S.-This young squad will definitely make multiple appearances in post-season play. Led by a very athletic 5’8″ sophomore Jakyra Jackson Jakyra Jackson 5'6" | CG Central West Helena | 2025 State AR . She can score from anywhere on the floor. Add junior 5’10” post Kassidy Truitt and freshman guard Jordyn Gamble, the future is bright for the Lady Cougars.
Jessieville H.S-This is another very young and talented team. Point guard and leading scorer freshman Payton Futch Payton Futch 5'9" | PG Jessieville | 2026 State AR can also score from anywhere. Couple that with swing guard sisters Kennedi and Karstyn Scrivner, sophomore and freshman respectively, and the Lady Lions will be a favorite to win a state title for the next few years.
Cossatot River H.S.- The Lady Eagles are led by senior Hannah McLain, a 5’10” forward. Carrying on the tradition will be 5’11” junior post Landrey Richardson Landrey Richardson 6'0" | C Cossatot River | 2024 State AR and 5’4″ junior swing guard Lyniya Treadway.
Flippin H.S.-Seniors Samantha Greenhaw, a 5’11” post, and Jayden Spoon, a 5’4″ point guard carried the senior-dominated Lady Bobcats to a state tournament bid. Ally Hodges, a 5’10” rebounding machine will be the only returning starter for the 2024 season.
Valley Springs H.S.-Two underclassmen dominated the court for the Lady Tigers. Macy Willis Macy Willis 5'6" | PG Valley Springs | 2025 State AR , a sophomore swing guard led the team in scoring. Savannah Ketchum, a 5’10” post led the team in rebounding. With any help, this duo will make a return visit next season.
Most of these student-athletes are underclassmen which indicates this 3A Classification will have an excellent representation of the top-rated players in 2024.
