Sanders was too much for Conway Christian to handle this past week, putting up 26 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. She had a solid outing against Paris as well, scoring 19 points, pulling down 5 boards, and adding 3 assists and 2 steals.

The UAM signee is a phenomenal offensive player. She can hit any look from inside the lane, but she is a deadly shooter who can get going off the catch and off the dribble. When she is on, Baptist Prep is nearly unstoppable.

Sanders is a “long and athletic” guard who showed off the top she could use her athleticism on both ends. Her “on the blall” pressure, including picking pockets, created turnovers, so did her playing the passing lane. She scored or dished off the dribble but her pull-up jumper as well as her “catch and shoot” looked good

She dominated with Baptist Prep and now she is dominating with the CyFair Elite. Cydney Sanders Cydney Sanders 5'8" | PG Baptist Prep | 2026 State AR is a special player who makes her mark on both sides of the ball every night.

Sanders is best known for her scoring ability, but first, I want to talk about her defense. Baptist Prep’s star guard does everything right on the defensive end: she gets on the floor after loose balls, she plays the passing lanes, and she plays hounding defense for all 32 minutes. Sanders also has high IQ on that end, drawing charges and tricking the opposition into making poor decisions.

On the other side of the ball, Sanders will make you pay if you leave her open. She is a great outside shooter, especially off the catch. She has also shown at the high school and AAU levels that she can take her defender off the dribble and score down low.

A long lanker guard that showed great ball handles by changing speeds against the pressure defense I really liked the way she was able to attack the downhill gaps off the dribble finding ways to the rim for the finish. Moved and relocated without the ball knocking down the kick out for the 3. Good vision in open transition making the correct reads for easy scoring opportunities. On defense I kept having to check the roster to make sure she was listed at 5’8 cause she sure played longer than that A low stance and quick lateral movement made tough for opposing ball handler to get around.
