Players left it all on the floor as they battled for a chance to show coaches they have what it takes to play at the next level. For college coaches looking for forwards, here are a few talented players that are still available.
Mackenzie is the “ultimate hustler”. She gets after it every single possession of every single play. Coaches won’t have to worry about her taking off plays because she never stops working. She will chase after every loose ball, defend as if her life depends on it and give everything she has. However this isn’t all she brings to the table. She has been able to set herself apart as a more than capable scorer. She hit a nice fadeaway jumper down on the low block and she was also able to spot up and hit a couple of 3’s off the catch.
Lola Cabannis-Ali
Lola Cabannis-Ali
Don’t let the numbers fool you for this high-motor forward who I believe still has some upside. Playing on an Independence team loaded with scorers, Lola found her niche as a solid rebounder on both ends of the floor, creating second chance opportunities for herself and her teammates. She does a great job running the floor and at times can be seen leading the fast break. Plug Lola into a lineup and she will instantly provide value to a team as she will look to do all the little things needed to help her team win.
Zahra scored her 1,000th career point last month on the way to becoming Marvin Ridge High School’s All-Time leading scorer. Zahra possesses deceptive speed as she can be seen beating small guards down the floor in transition. She has above average ball handling skills which she put on display today. She has a nice soft touch around the rim and she can finish through contact. She has scoring capabilities at all 3 levels. Zahra plays very tough and can certainly be a huge addition to a team on the next level.
Erin Allen
Erin Allen
The All-Conference forward shows to be a very intriguing prospect. Erin has a lot of length and did a good job defending the wing position and got her hands out for some deflections. She can run the floor very well and appears to be able to defend 1-3. Just a lot of positive attributes shown from Erin and is another play than can perform well given the opportunity.
