F: Kailey Tulachka
Although Mishicot lost Aquinas, I thought Tulachka asked questions of the Blugold defense that they had no answer for. I love how physical and relentless she is on the offensive. She fought for everything the entire time she was on the floor, regardless of the score. There isn’t a team in the state that would be worse off with her on their roster. She has a bright future playing for Eau Claire over the next four years.
W: Tierney Madigan Tierney Madigan 5'10" | SG Laconia | 2025 State WI
The statement I’m about to make fits all of the Laconia 2025s, but Madigan excels at everything within the game and doesn’t need to score to impact the game. In the title game, she scored five points but added four assists and pulled down 11 rebounds. She’s been one of my favorite kids to watch in that class, but she’s as selfless as they come.
G: Macy Donarski Macy Donarski 5'7" | PG Aquinas | 2023 State WI
There aren’t many kids who play as hard as Macy Donarski Macy Donarski 5'7" | PG Aquinas | 2023 State WI . Ever since I first saw her last summer, I couldn’t get enough of watching her do what she does best. She’s an excellent athlete, orchestrates offense well, defends with everything she has, and is one of the most respected people at Aquinas on the basketball team and school. People respond to her, and although she didn’t end her career in high school how she would’ve liked, Donarski’s one of the most respected kids in her class because of everything Donarski put into her game. I bet she’ll be a significant figure for Montana early in her career.
G: Aubrey Leonard Aubrey Leonard 5'8" | PG Laconia | 2025 State WI
The play of Aubrey Leonard Aubrey Leonard 5'8" | PG Laconia | 2025 State WI in the state title game was the difference in Laconia taking home a gold or silver ball, in my opinion. She was unflappable in the face of Aquinas’ press. Leonard made things happen repeatedly. The sophomore didn’t look like she’d allow her team to accept anything less than a gold ball last Saturday.
G: McKenna Shipman McKenna Shipman 5'7" | SG Colfax | 2024 State WI
I’m glad Shipman got to show what she can do in front of the state at the Resch Center. She’s not a kid that most people will get to see regularly, and even though Colfax came up short against Laconia, she did what she does best and put the ball in the basket. She did an excellent job finding unique ways to create shots against Laconia.
