Continue ReadingThis season of high school basketball in New Jersey saw a plethora of players reach the 1000 point plateau, one of the highest numbers we’ve seen in that department in years. While many players hit the mark, many got themselves within striking distance of reaching the 1K mark next season. This article will talk about some of those players who will soon reach that mark.
Charlotte Tuhy Charlotte Tuhy 6'0" | SF Madison | 2025 State NJ – Madison (2025)
Tuhy has been a mainstay on Madison’s team over the past two seasons and has evolved into one of the best forwards in the 2025 class and all of the state. She currently sits at 958 points through her first two seasons, going absolutely off as a sophomore, averaging a career-high 20.9 PPG. Not only will she break the 1K plateau, but she’ll easily break into the 100 three-pointers club as a junior.
Ella Kreuzer Ella Kreuzer 5'10" | SG Chatham | 2025 State NJ – Chatham (2025)
Kreuzer had her best offensive season by far as a sophomore for Chatham, averaging 13.7 PPG in 29 games played. She’s someone who isn’t necessarily close to the 1K threshold yet, sitting at 708 points through two seasons, but her offensive success as a sophomore lends itself well to her reaching that mark with ease as a junior.
Emily Poulas Emily Poulas 5'7" | SG Jefferson Township | 2024 State NJ – Jefferson Township (2024)
Poulas has turned on another dial over the past two seasons with Jefferson Township, hitting 150 three-pointers as she scored a career-high 13.3 points a game as a junior. She’s hitting her stride well in high school right now, peaking at just the right time, which should really help her reach the 1K mark. With 737 career points, that mark seems well within her grasp.
Reese Downey Reese Downey 5'7" | PG Absegami | 2025 State NJ – Absegami (2025)
Downey has been one of the most complete guards in South Jersey the past two seasons, with well over 230 assists and steals each in that time. She’s the engine for Absegami and as she goes, they go. While last season was a bit of a down year, Downey’s junior year is bound to be a great one and she’s just 135 points away from 1000, an easy milestone for a player that’s scored over 420 points each of her first two high school seasons.
Kaci Mikulski Kaci Mikulski 5'8" | CG Wildwood Catholic Academy | 2024 State NJ – Wildwood Catholic (2024)
Mikulski has made herself into one of the best players in the 2024 class really over the past two years with Wildwood Catholic. Easily one of the best shooters in the class, with 60+ made three-pointers in each of the last two seasons, Mikulski sits at 840 points and is coming off a career-high 14.7 PPG as a junior. Reaching the milestone is well within her grasp as a senior.
Ghelsey Go Ghelsey Go SG Edison | 2024 State NJ – Edison (2024)
Go made herself known in a big way as a freshman, and returned to that form and then some as a junior for Edison, averaging nearly 17.0 PPG in 28 games, easily a career-high for her. Her game is so well-rounded, playing well down on the post defensively, but consistently making outside and midrange shots offensively. She’s currently at 864 career points and 1K is right in front of her for her senior year.
Jessica Devine Jessica Devine 5'6" | PG Middlesex | 2025 State NJ – Middlesex (2025)
Devine and Neysa Aguilar Neysa Aguilar PG Middlesex | 2023 State NJ were the dynamic duo of the Greater Middlesex Conference and one of the best in the state, and Devine was just a sophomore. Averaging over 18 points a game along with 5.2 RPG, 5.8 APG and 5.9 SPG, she’s the complete package at the guard position. With just 147 points before hitting 1000 in her career, that milestone is going to come early on in her junior season.
