Surprise Surprise to most but not to me! The combo guard stepped up in a big way for her Lady Wave ball club this year and it continued to show in the state semifinals where she lead with a game high 18 points while collecting 9 boards. I was more so impressed with her shot making ability as I knew she could beat people off the bounce but against number 1 seed Walker the kid just made shots! Looking forward to see how she continues to grow this summer.
The recently named Mcdonalds All-American did not disappoint, returning back to the top 28 after loosing in the tittle game last year you could tell Williams came to Hammond to do nothing more then handle business. In the semi’s against Barbe Williams finished with a double-double 23 points and 17 boards. But what was more impressive is what she did on Saturday in the tittle game! Mikaylah was simply unguardable against the team that defeated her Parkway squad last year (Ponchatoula) scoring at all three levels and just nailing pull up jumpers from everywhere it was a site to see. In the two games Williams averaged a double-double in the tittle game she lead all scores with 34 points while grabbing 11 boards shooting 11-18 from the field and 9-11 from the charity stripe! Simply put she put a stamp on a great high school career and left no doubt that she will go down as a Louisiana Great!

Impressive is all I could say after watching the 5’11 Williams in the Semi’s against eventual state Champs Parkway! The Uber athletic Williams finished that game with a double-double 14pts on a bunch of acrobatic finishes and 14 rebounds for her Lady Buc’s squad! I hate this was the last time i’d get to see A’rell on the hardwood seeing as tho she’s signed to Louisiana Tech’s track team at the next level!
A undersized junk yard dawg who’s a 400 meter specialist that just so happened to anchor the number 1 seeded Walker squad all year. In the semi’s Scott stood out with her all out hustle and ability to rebound, defend and run the floor as she finished with 12 points 6 boards and 3 steal for her Walker High team. Again another kid I hate to see leaving the hardwood as she’ll be signing with either Southeastern Louisiana or UL Monroe in the next couple of days for track.
If you knew Nick Van Exel then you know Chloe Larry Chloe Larry 5’7″ | PG Parkway | 2024 State LA her game reminds me so much of Nick the quicks not only because there both left handed but her ability to knock down the 3 ball from any distance and take over a game defensively is what stands out. Larry showed those assets Thursday and Saturday helping her Lady Panthers team to a state title. In the 2 games she averaged 18.5 ppg while displaying her ability to guard and also run the team. Next year she will be the Batman of the Lady Panthers as she’ll take over the reigns from McDonald’s All-American Mikaylah Williams Mikaylah Williams 6’0″ | CG Parkway | 2023 State LA !
Consistency is the word for this UNSIGED ’23 hooper. Jackson continues to show why she’s one of the states best undersized post. Jackson had a nice title game finishing around the rim over bigger defenders leading her team with 20 points 4 rebounds and 6 steals. I don’t know what more this kid needs to do to get a chance at the next level but this is two years in a row that she’s shined bright in a state championship contest.
