Undefeated and impressive competing with high level multi-sport athletes. Amongst the team, five players have shined this year as top performers and key contributors to this impressive run.
Their defense has been one for the books, and it has been led game after game by #22 Sidney Roberge, who takes the big defensive assignments against all opponents. Roberge is aggressive and smart. Prides herself on her defense, she is a standout. With excellent footwork, specifically her drop step and zig zag movements, even more impressive was her ability to deny and apply ball pressure.
#12 Alex Larrabee Alex Larrabee 6'1" | PF Bow | 2023 State New E is an impressive athlete with length and versatility in size. She is not afraid to battle inside but can defend from the parameter and attack off the dribble. What’s most impressive about Larrabee is her mid range game and touch 2-3 feet away from the hoop. She has a strong first step and plays the high post very well allowing herself to use that if needed in a shorter area. Larrabee is a huge piece of the Falcons offense, but even more importantly, a big part of the defense, often defending the biggest girl on the other side, and being slightly under size compared to some.
The dynamic combination of the LaPerle twins, #4 Lyndsey LaPerle Lyndsey LaPerle 5'2" | PG Bow | 2023 State New E and #3 Bella LaPerle Bella LaPerle 5'2" | PG Bow | 2023 State New E , are fun to watch. They are forces to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor. Defensively they are annoying and in your face for 90 feet. They do not take a possession off and are involved with every play on both sides of the floor. One playing the point guard, and one playing the off-guard position, their hands are on every ball and in every offensive possession. They can shoot the three and are strong in the open court, especially in transition offense. It is fun to watch their intensity and their desire for the ball and no-quit focus.
A developing player for the Falcons and one who has really come into her own this year is Juliette Tarsa Juliette Tarsa 5'8" | SG Bow | 2024 State New E . She has a nice smooth jump shot especially from the three. She has a strong build for a wing position player with the ability to attack the rim and finish hard with the hit. She can also get hot from mid range and is efficient with shooting off the catch out of their offense. Her offense has really come out this year. Defensively she is aggressive and not afraid to bang at the wing position when guarding a perimeter player. She has a high ceiling and should develop even more over the next few months as she finishes the regular season, jumps into the postseason, and then begins AAU.
What’s so special about this Bow Falcons team one may ask? Most of their starters and top players are multi-sport athletes, with basketball only a secondary sport for them. Laramie for example is a commit for D1 lacrosse, heading to Colgate next year. Lyndsey LaParle is headed to Sacred Heart. to play soccer next year. It’s the grit, mental toughness, and defense that makes this performance by the Bow Falcons one for the books in D2 basketball this season.
