First game of the day we saw #1 Thompson take on Garrison. This was a nail bitter of a game. Garrison trailed the Tommie’s by 1 going into half, but coming out Thompson controlled the glass winning the boards battle 34-20. Kyra Hurst added a double-double with 14 points 12 rebounds solidifying the Tommie’s victory 55-50. Thompson moves on to the title game.
Second matchup we had Central Cass vs. Rugby. The first half of this match was another battle for the ages as the Panthers trailed the Squirrels’ by 2 despite being out rebounded 18-10. The second half was just as exciting as the first as Senior Decontee Smith put the game into overtime with two free throws were the Squirells eventually held on for a 1 point 53-52 win. Smith lead the charge with 31 points in the win. Central Cass with face Thompson for the state crown.
In the other bracket EKM beat Kenmare/Bowbells 51-47 and Langdon Area/Munich topped Bowman County 54-48. Edgeley will play Langdon for 5th place. Bowman will play Kenmare for 7th and Rugby will go at Garrison for 3rd.
