The 6A tournament was loaded with talented girls all across the board, with multiple standouts outside of what is listed in this article. Take a look at the five I chose that caught some attention with their outstanding play during the playoffs.
Jadyn Wooten Jadyn Wooten 5'6" | PG Blue Valley | 2024 State KS – Wooten, the Oklahoma State University commit known for her scoring ability continues to score, to no one’s surprise. Her elite shot-making ability with a high level of difficulty continues to impress the fans. From her catch-and-shoot ability out to the college range, floaters off of 1 or 2 feet, or just her pull-up jumper, she gets to whatever she wants. What’s most impressive is her ability to do this while being face guarded and double-teamed all game long.
Addy Brown- Brown, the “Burger Girl” with her McDonald’s all-star game selection led her team as far as she possibly could her senior year. Headed to Iowa state she left with a bang. Averaging a double-double on a nightly basis set her up for a lot of success. Not many posts can step out and shoot the 3, beat you off the bounce, or attract two defenders and kick it to the open teammate.
Destiny Smith Destiny Smith 5'7" | CG Derby | 2024 State KS – What has always been impressive for the Derby guard is her pace and ability to create her own shot off the bounce. She’s never been shy to score for herself and does so in an orderly fashion to help her teammates. What she has made a huge leap in this year is her ability to defend on and off the ball. There’s no doubt that she won’t make a huge impact at whatever college she ends up at when the time comes.
Trinity Dixon- Dixon has to be one of the scrappiest defenders you’ve seen. She is a constant pest on the ball all game long and plays with so much swagger you can tell she has passion and love for the game. The way she reads the opponents and uses her small stature to her advantage, she was just one of the few to help lead her team to the state tournament since 1988.
Jaliyah Davis- Jaliyah from Blue Valley North was just too much to handle for the league, putting up 18 points, 10 rebounds, and converting on 58 FG percentage for her team, you can imagine she was a huge reason why they won the state tournament over Washburn Rural. Her athletic ability to jump and sky over the other girls just isn’t fair. When she decides to cut and make herself available for the ball she does it and does it with her physical presence moving everyone out of the way. In that loaded C/O 2025, she will be expected to make it back to State in the next two years.
