Kyra Owens- SETX
Owens is one of the most improved players I have seen since last season. She was basically a back to the basket player but like that other SC from up north, I SEE EVERYTHING and I know she’s been working. She rebounds on both ends, and scores on putbacks, as well as around the basket yet her scoring from outside showing the midrange as well as attacking strongly from outside have gotten better
Lyric Smith Lyric Smith 5'11" | SF Beaumont Westbrook | 2025 State TX -SETX
Smith has that “long and athletic” base I love to talk about and when you factor in her “timing” as she comes from nowhere to block shots, her upside is scary. She also scores around the basket, elevates over defenders in the paint, as well as on her jumper and she does a good job hitting the boards. She also plays the passing lane and defends in and outside the paint
Jazz Betts-SETX
Betts gets the #THROWBACK hashtag because I love her showing the DROP STEP inside the paint. Well, I love watching her just go to work because her “hands and footwork” are also from another era, she finishes with players literally hanging on her. She can take the defender off the dribble with a deceptive yet powerful first step but she also defends strongly, yeah which includes playing the passing lane
Markayla Celestine- Cy Fair Premier 16U
Celestine went off every time I saw her whether it was her catching everything thrown her way, to just being an interior force, she brought it both days. She scored around the basket, putbacks included because she rebounded strongly on both ends but she played the passing lane and handled the ball in the open court and her defense was solid
Amyah Hall Amyah Hall 6'4" | C Legacy SSS | 2026 State TX – Cy Fair Premier 16U
Hall keeps progressing and her spin under the basket to score had me dizzy just watching because it was under control and she did it fluidly. She scoring with either hand in the paint, she’s also rebounding on both ends as well as doing a good job defensively but let me also add that she’s running the floor well, good upside
Kindall Houston- Level Up 15U
Houston, yall have a problem because this young lady is not only “long and athletic” which one more time, will always be the base, she actually goes hard on both ends. I loved her timing as she blocked, altered and (or) defelcted shots but she also showed she could score attacking the basket and finshing after contact as well as dropping the short jumper. Well she also rebounded strongly on both ends and scored on putbacks and did a good job defending
Bryanna Boston-Level Up 17U
Boston is one of those “never takes a play-off” type of player, yeah I’m dropping #THROWBACK not just for that, but her diving on the floor for loose balls, battling fro rebounds and even tying up plyers for the jump ball. Her “on the ball” defense helped create turnovers, quicks hands and understanding how to force players into the trap also was nice
