Dawn Roberson-Power
Roberson caught my eye a few years ago, this is what I said back then. She’s added the long ball and I mean from DEEP, by creating her shot under pressure but she also showed the EURO a few times in transition. Her release is quick, and she can drop the pull-up jumper in the set but she also attacks off the dribble with either hand, not to omit her “on the ball” defense was a huge plus as well
Kristia Williams- Power
Williams is an athletic guard that uses her athleticism on both ends. Her “on the ball” defense was smothering at times as she helped force players into the trap, she used her hands to come away with steals and she played the passing lane but peep this, she also handled the ball in the open court afterward and showed she could score off the dribble
Bryanna Stokes-D5 Solid
Stokes just amazes me and when she defied gravity and made the backward lay-up, I dropped my notebook, sort of like “dropping the mic” yet she has been impressive for years, and watching her THINK the game as she sets the defender up nicely to attack or drop the jumper, effortlessly, makes her hard to handle
Deyah Ray- Cy Fair Premier 17U
Ray keeps adding to her game, she’s another young lady I’ve been watching since my hair was all black yet even in elementary school, I could tell by her mannerisms what was coming. She loves the pressure, whether she’s applying it on defense or wanting the shot down the stretch, she’s ready, and making big plays in the clutch is something she does naturally, like playing the passing lane and scoring or just scoring period
Taiya Kikunga- Houston Lady Nets 17U [2025]
Kikunga has made several jumps and speaking of jumps, her UPS is creating some problems on both ends. I love seeing her go after the ball off the rim as well as score on putbacks, yes, she rebounds on both ends, but she’s also scoring around the basket, with either hand, and after contact. She’s also playing strong defense inside the paint
Amariah Burns-Houston Lady Nets 17U
Burns is using her body well on both ends of the court, she understands positioning which enables her to rebound against taller players and she does a good job defending, both inside and outside the paint. I also love the “hands and footwork” that she has been working on, this SC also sees everything but her “DROP STEP” gets her the #THROWBACK hashtag
Yaslyn Gonzales-Level Up 17U
Gonzales is another player that falls into that “never takes a play-off” category because her on-the-ball defense baseline to baseline is smothering and creates turnovers because of her pressure, well so does her quick hands but on the flip, she attacks the basket relentlessly, and finishes strongly after contact, she also drops the jumper and sees the floor
Sydney Barras- Houston Lady Nets 16U
Barras can score from, well wherever she wants because the mid to long-range is good, so is her attacking the basket using either hand and finishing after contact, with either hand. She also sees the floor in the open court, in fact, her rebounding and throwing on the money passes in transition is huge, and so is her on-the-ball defense
Jazmine Hansley Jazmine Hansley 5'6" | PG Dickinson | 2025 State TX – Houston Queens 17U
Hansley was added to the PGH Texas Top 100 after showing out on the PGH Circuit last season and she’s showing the show is nowhere near over. Her first step can leave the defender cemented to the court yet her elevating on her jumper and dropping it with a hand in her face is pretty impressive. She also finishes acrobatically off the dribble, after contact and applies heat defensively
Salain Klausmeir- Houston Queens 17U
Klaumeir used her body well around the basket, she rebounded on both ends and ran the floor on both ends but she also showed good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots. She has nice moves around the basket, showing she could finish and has good upside
Macy Eaker- Houston Queens 17U
Eaker also did a good job on the interior as she too used her body well and didn’t mind the physicality, be it giving or taking. Speaking of taking, she battled for the ball off the rim but she did the same for loose balls, which is always a good sign
