In this article, we will highlight a few players in the 2023 class who have climbed the ranks and have made a significant impact in their senior season.
Morgan Borgstadt Morgan Borgstadt 5’11” | SF Verdigris | 2023 State OK is a dynamic 5’11” guard who is a mismatch problem for opposing teams. Her height and tenacious mentality make her a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor. Borgstadt’s aggressive attacking style and relentless work ethic allow her to create opportunities and score consistently. She is also a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions, making her a valuable asset to any team. Her impressive performance has led her team to the semi-finals at 4A State, and she has been named the Valley North Division Most Valuable Player. Borgstadt’s commitment to the University of Texas Martin in the fall of 2023 is a testament to her exceptional skills and potential as a basketball player.
Kayla Jones Kayla Jones 6’0″ | PF Norman | 2023 State OK is a 6′ power forward who has proven herself to be a player worthy of recognition this season. Her work ethic and attention to detail in all aspects of the game make her an invaluable asset to any team. Jones is a fierce rebounder, defender, and scorer, consistently demonstrating her abilities at a high level. Her unwavering determination and refusal to quit on the court set her apart from other players. As a crucial member of the Norman Tigers, she has led the team in scoring on multiple occasions, providing stability at the forward position. Jones’s impressive performance has earned her a spot on the Tulsa World State All Tournament team and COAC 1st Team All Conference. Although currently uncommitted, it’s only a matter of time before Jones garners the recognition she deserves from top-level programs, as she is truly one heck of a player.

Jillian Crawford Jillian Crawford 5’10” | SF Piedmont | 2023 State OK is a 5’10” small forward who brings energy and a competitive spirit to the court. Her ability to attack gaps off the dribble and finish through contact is impressive, making her a consistent threat on the offensive end. Crawford is at her best when she is moving and actively looking for opportunities to score. She can shoot it from the outside and her presence and leadership on the floor is unmatched. Jillian has a few scholarship offers from some good programs at the Division 2 level and others. Who knows where she lands, but where ever she chooses, they are getting a good one.
Hailey Jackson Hailey Jackson 5’9″ | SF Charles Page | 2023 State OK is a 5’9″ forward who proved to be an impressive player during the Area Playoff game, leading all scorers with nearly 30 points and displaying versatile production in various ways. Her work ethic is admirable, giving 100% effort in every game. Jackson’s shooting ability, both from the mid-range and beyond the arc, makes her a valuable offensive asset. She’s also a strong presence in the paint and has good ball handling skills. With over 1,000 points scored in her high school career, it’s clear that Jackson has the potential to continue playing basketball at the next level.
Anjewl Murillo Anjewl Murillo 5’7″ | CG Guthrie | 2023 State OK is a 5’7″ combo guard from Guthrie High School who caught the attention of my colleague and I can see why. Her ability to attack the basket in traffic and finish through contact is impressive, and she has some serious handles that allow her to get creative if needed. Her game is straightforward and effective, as she can stop in the midrange and hit the shot. She has a smooth shot from behind the 3-point line as well. Murillo is also a playmaker who creates opportunities for her teammates and has quick instincts on defense with her long arms. With over 1,000 points scored in her career, she’s a hidden gem who has the potential to be a valuable asset to any team at the next level.
