AAU season is well underway in New Jersey, which means we have plenty of teams and players to talk about. This is part of our ongoing AAU preview series, knowing the season is still going on. Below is the New Jersey players currently playing on Philly Belles 17U Peterson.

Abigail Bash - Woodbury (2024)

Bash is a Kingsway transfer and has shown up and shown out for Woodbury over the past two seasons, playing a versatile role as a 5-10 guard. Her stats reflect just that, averaging 7.7 PPG and 6.7 RPG in 19 games with the Thundering Herd. She's got a true ability to play down in the post, but is just a solid defensive player overall. Her scoring took a dip as a junior, but we're expecting those number to rise tremendously come next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='326406' first='Aiyonna' last='Alexander'] - Winslow (2024)

Alexander's production as a junior wasn't quite what we saw from her as a sophomore and as more teams have singled her out in their game plans, she's has to fight for her points and rebounds. However, last season was no down year at all as she averaged 8.4 PPG and 9.0 RPG in 22 games. Her passing improved tremendously as well as her overall post game, and this summer is the time to hone in on the little things for greater overall success.

Atinuke Bamgbose - Williamstown (2024)

On the high school front, Bamgbose saw increased production in a big way as a junior for Williamstown, but there's still plenty left for her to accomplish. Another forward, she's going to get increased playing time as a senior, making this summer that much more crucial for her. She's got great teammates to work with to improve her rebounding and her awareness down on the post. Having a great feel for the position will do wonders as much as actually making plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='406945' first='Kristina' last='Turner'] - Burlington Township (2024)

A sharp-shooter and arguably one of the best in the state, Turner has prided herself on being able to shoot from deep and shoot consistently. Last season was as good an indication of that, knocking down 96 three-pointers in 25 games, nearly four three-pointers a game, as she averaged 17.8 PPG for Burlington Township. In five more games as a junior, she tripled her three-point success and more than doubled her scoring averages.

[player_tooltip player_id='859132' first='Taylor' last='Tchou'] - Shawnee (2024)

Tchou had a "breakout" season for Shawnee as a junior, getting more playing time and scoring more, but her stats didn't necessarily reflect the importance of what she was able to do. With Shawnee's three best players graduating this spring, that leaves Tchou as the leading returning scorer for the team. This summer will be her opportunity to work on leadership skills, running the point and being that go-to player she'll need to be come next season.
