Here is a look at players from Class IA Division I who are coming off big junior seasons and look to continue to post large rebounding numbers as seniors in 2023 and 2024.
Erin Schwertfeger, 5’8”, PF, Fairfield
Schwertfeger averaged 10 rebounds a game during her junior season. She plays shooting guard for Fairfield; however, she is not the team’s first option on offense. Schwertfeger works hard to get into a rebounding position and she has a big reach. Her reach and jumping ability also play out well for her on the volleyball court as a middle hitter for the Falcons.
Aubrey Olander Aubrey Olander 5'11" | C Little River | 2024 State KS , 6’2”, C, Little River
Olander averaged 9.7 rebounds per game for the Lady Redskins during her junior season. Olander can also score as she averaged 15.7 points per game in the 2022-2023 season. She is also a stud on the volleyball court. The tall athletic multi-sport star should have coaches from multiple sports beating on her door.
Kambry Adams Kambry Adams 5'9" | PF Macksville | 2024 State KS , 5’9”, C, Macksville
The Macksville prospect has quick feet and is an aggressive player. Adams averaged 8.4 rebounds per game during the 2022-2023 season. Her offensive-to-defensive rebounding was almost an equal split as she finished with 92 defensive rebounds and 83 boards off the offensive glass. Adams is also a solid hitter on the volleyball court.
Kennedy Amrein, 6’0”, C, Victoria
Amrein averaged 7.9 rebounds per game during her junior season. She is a big strong center who likes to play with her back to the basket. She averaged 7.3 points per game for Victoria. She is also an accomplished hitter and blocker on the volleyball scene.
Avery Parrot, 5’7”, PF, La Crosse
Parrot averaged 6.2 rebounds for La Crosse during her junior season. She also added 5.3 points per game. Parrot can score from 3-point distance. She might have an edge to play college volleyball over basketball. She is an outside hitter for the Leopards.
