Here are some of the younger players who stood out in the gyms I was in over the weekend.
Anna Lohman, 5-9 Pro Day Lady Lightning 13U
High motor, sets her apart, very skilled and scorer Great length and a good defender. Does a great job of getting to the rim and can finish well. She is definitely one that’s going to be one big player to watch in the future. Good range.
Leah Evans, 5-5 Lady Tigers Teague 13U
Been a point guard, now plays more of a combo guard, can get off the ball to shoot. Puts the ball on floor, shoots off dribble or set. Can get to the rim. Good basketball IQ finds her teammates
Denaijah Jacobs, 5-5 Lady Tigers Teague 13U
Strong with ball, gets to the rim. Diatribes the ball, breaks down the press moving ball to the right spot. Finished either hands. Can fly up the floor in transition. Quick as a cat. Knocks down her free throws.
Brooklyn Gibson, 5-9 Southern Indiana 2026
This freshman put on a great display in their.Saturday afternoon game against the Kentucky Blue Devils. Was impressed how well she controls the pace of the game on both ends of the floor. She is solid on the boards with her rebounding and defensively, she can force steals and will capitalize on mistakes. Good future in front of her.
NaRiya Goddard, 5-5 Dayton Metro 2028
Playing in the 2027 age group, she is a lockdown defender who is lightning quick. Even with her size, she can finish well at the rim and play though contact. She has that bulldog mentality, will pick you up baseline to baseline.
Paisley Phillips, 5-10 Dayton Metro 2028
She is a stretch four right now, and will grow a bit more in high school. Battled well inside and help control the boards. A very good overall day. Offensively aggressive both in the post and on the wing. Can get to the line and is consistent for her age.
Paige Schnaus Paige Schnaus 6'1" | C Gibson Southern | 2027 State IN , 6-1 Southern Indiana Mavericks
Her ceiling is going to be incredible. As she gets into high school she should develop more strength which will make her very tough to handle. She handles the ball like a guard. Shoots from the 3. She is a D1 level kid. Defensively strong around the rim but can guard 1-5. Great soft touch in the paint, uses the glass well.
Courtney Fonte, 5-7 Royalty 2027
A very talented point guard with an excellent skillset. Can pull up and knock down the jumper if you give her space. Courtney is able to break the press with solid handles. Very into the game, wants to get better.
