A majority of those exciting games included these 5 below, who were selected by the scouting staff for the 16U First Team All Tournament!
Kenley Frey
Kenley Frey
In every game that I watched of Frey.. she just continued to impress me with her motor, defense and leadership. On both sides of the court Kenly is as aggressive as any guard there was this weekend, and she knows the right decisions to make. Off ball, she stays active.. On ball, she remains patient but ready to take off and score, or make a play happen for a teammate at any moment. Defensively, Frey has heart, grit and focus. She came away with a huge block on a three point attempt for the team win on Saturday afternoon. Her energy matches the potential.
Rylee Kalocay
Rylee Kalocay
Could make a case as one the most talented 2025’s in the building all weekend. This kid just has the IT factor and her game is just all around. With the ball in her hand shes bound to go off for 20+ plus with a majority of them being from deep. Kalocay knows how to make plays for herself, but especially for others. Up ahead passes, needle threaders, and drive and kicks. Her defense matches her leadership.. vocal and aware. She encourages her teammates when she’s on the floor, and from the bench. She’s legit. High upside.
Payton Collins
Payton Collins
Her feel for the game are noticed immediately. Collins makes the right play on majority of her possessions, and she seems to be always locked in… but always aware of what’s happening around. Payton can score the ball at the rim with contact, through traffic and or around the defense (both hands). She can knockdown the long ball as well. Defensively, her motor and resilience go perfect with her natural instincts. Collins is just purely impactful to whatever team shes on. Strong potential.
Carter has the look, the walk, the talk and most importantly the skillset. She has the tight ball handling skills, the clear vision to maneuver the traffic and the ability to score from all angles. Quick first step matched with a heavy carrying of athleticism. With nothing but time, Alaya has the potential to be truly special at the next level when she gets there. She is ranked Top 20 in her state for a reason, but she was definitely a Top 5 player over the weekend here in Illinois.
Carly Rich
Carly Rich
Carly is fun to watch. A point guard in every sense of the word. Impressive vision. Draws the defense in and creates opportunity to pass. Sets her teammates up nicely with accurate assists. Controlled but purposeful when on the attack. Runs fast break as good as anyone this weekend. Smooth jumper and body control. –Nick Georgoulis
