The future is bright for these young players who showcased their talents: great defenders, special scorers, special passers, etc.
Jaida Johnson Jaida Johnson 5'11" | C Byrnes | 2026 State SC / 2027 PF, C / Byrnes Freshman Academy / Upstate Rebels 2026 Johnson played well during the Tournament and solidified herself as one of the top players who played in the 15-U Division. Johnson played well all weekend contributing in scoring, rebounding, and controlling things in the middle. Johnson ran the floor all weekend and brought unparalleled energy to the court.
Josie Hanks Josie Hanks 5'7" | CG Oceanside Collegiate Academy | 2026 State SC / 2026 SG / Oceanside / Charleston Raptors 2026
The energy that Hanks played with was infectious. She plays every play and doesn’t give up on it until the whistle blows. Hanks was special in the transition game taking coast to coast and finishing with the left one time and the right on the next coast-to-coast journey. On one play Hanks weaved in and out of traffic and finished with a reverse layup. Her athleticism and change of direction were impressive and showing these skills as a 7th grader was unbelievable. She pulled this move on numerous occasions and just flourished in the transition game. Defensively, she was very active and versatile playing at both the guard position and the forward position on defense.
Jakayla Palmer / 2027 PG / Neal Middle School / Carolina All Stars
Palmer was a Day 1 Standout and if that wasn’t enough, the young baller delivered a 30-point performance in one of the most dominating performances of the tournament. Palmer connected from every level on the court and played a phenomenal game. Her smothering defense led to steals and conversions.
Narissa Blocton Narissa Blocton 5'9" | PG Ridgeview | 2026 State FL / 2026 SG / Ridgeview HS (Florida) / MHD ELite
Blocton was a defensive standout on Day 2 of the event, locking down Junior point guards who had scored 30 points in an earlier game. Blocton is a versatile guard who can defend three positions. Offensively, she has good speed and can drive it to the basket and score in transition. Blocton rebounded well from the guard position and she gets buckets off of offensive rebounds. Blocton is a Freshman who played up two divisions (17U) and made these contributions.
Ellison Silver Ellison Silver 5'6" | SG James F Byrnes | 2027 SC / 2027 SG / Wren Middle / Upstate Rebels 2026
Silver played well over the weekend and was a force on the offense and defensive end. The guard shot it well from a long-range including three three-pointers on day one of the event. Silver handles the ball well and does a good job of running the point and playing well with her teammates. Silver knows how to pu the ball in the basket, but she also is a sefless player who made plays sharing the rock with her teammates.
