<p>Prep Girls Hoops New Mexico has updated our 2023 Prospect Rankings! The list now stands at 119 total prospects ranked. Since our last update, our team of scouts has continued gathering new insights on this crop of players by keeping tabs on players throughout the last few months.</p>

<p>To follow up on the latest ranking release, here's positional breakdowns of the 2023 Class starting with the guards. </p>

<p>#2 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='353927' first='Emma' last='Christiano']</strong> | PG | Las Cruces: [player_tooltip player_id='353927' first='Emma' last='Christiano'] from Las Cruces High School was one of the state's best all-around players during the 2022-23 season. She posted an all-around stat line of about 15-5-5 per game during her senior year. She was the states second leading passer in terms of assists per game. Her leadership and elite ability helped Las Cruces knock off #2 Farmington in the second round of the 5A Girls State Playoffs and reach the 5A Girls State Semifinals. Her traditional style play at the point guard position will be a nice addition to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs where she officially signed her letter of intent. </p>

<p>#4 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='391179' first='Lila' last='Ashida']</strong> | SG | Las Cruces: [player_tooltip player_id='391179' first='Lila' last='Ashida'] was arguably the state's top shooting guard in 2022-23. Throughout the season, she constantly took and made big shots for the Lady Las Cruces Bulldawgs. She averaged just under 17 points per game which was inside the top 15 in New Mexico. [player_tooltip player_id='391179' first='Lila' last='Ashida'] was also among the most dangerous three-point shooters in the community making 61 three-point field goals from beyond the three-point line which was the 7th most in the state. </p>

<p>#6 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='353913' first='Kamalani' last='Anitielu']</strong> | SG | Farmington: [player_tooltip player_id='353913' first='Kamalani' last='Anitielu'] was a huge factor in the Farmington Scorpions success from this past season getting the #2 seed in the 5A Class State Tournament. She averaged an impressive 14.7 points per game on a respectable 46% shooting from the field. She was among the best marksmen from range by making 66 three-pointers on the year while shooting 37%. </p>

<p>#12 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='353911' first='Ariana' last='Sanchez']</strong> | CG | Albuquerque: [player_tooltip player_id='353911' first='Ariana' last='Sanchez'] from the Albuquerque High Lady Bulldogs was he teams second best player behind teammate [player_tooltip player_id='353909' first='Leilani' last='Love'] but was their most important player. She did just about everything for her club to win and secure the best overall record in the 5A Class this year. She averaged an impressive 13 points per game this year and the team's second option. Ariana averaged 4.1 assists per game which was tied for the 7th most in the state and grabbed just under 3 steals per game. Her all-around skills will come in handy at the next level for Eastern New Mexico next season. </p>
