Excellent basketball was displayed at a very high level. The following is a list of top performers at the center and forward positions;
Sara McCain-Arkansas Sting 17U 5’11” PF, Searcy H.S. 2024-Sara, pictured above, is a versatile athlete that can play at either the center position or the power forward spot. She has the size and strength to create her shot in the paint. Her 3-point range is sufficient to draw the defense out and open up the middle for her teammates. She gets out in transition and can defend effectively both inside and outside the lane.
Journi Versie-Woodz Elite 2025 5’10” PF, Marked Tree H.S.2025-Journi is a natural athlete. She is exceptionally strong and is a very physical rebounder. She needs to work on her weak side a bit but when she gets her opponent on her hip she’ll score or be at the line shooting free throws. Journi gets to the glass quickly and can run the floor in transition. She’s predominantly a back-to-the-basket scorer.
Savannah Ketchum-Can’t Stop Just One Jsquad 2024 6’1″ C/PF, Valley Springs H.S. 2024-Savannah is a blue-collar player. That is, she won’t razzle dazzle you with anything more than just solid play. Her size allows her to post up if needed, however, she can go outside the 3-line and score as well. She doesn’t turn it over and she’s a space eater inside the lane.
Miciah Fusilier-Mavs Elite Durham 2025 6’3″ C, Camden Fairview H.S. 2027-Miciah will be a freshman in high school next school year. She’s already elevating her game this summer by playing high-level competition. She’s got a very high ceiling! She needs to get stronger. Also, work on that weak side, but the foundation is there! She’s a natural rebounder and when the game slows down for her, she has the potential to dominate in the paint.
Caroline Bradley-Mavs Elite Durham 2025 6’5″ C, Oak Grove H.S. 2027 Louisianna-Caroline also will be a freshman in high school next year. She’s got excellent footwork down low under the basket. She’s learned to post up offensively and is a rim protector on defense. She’s got sufficient size and doesn’t get pushed around by older more experienced centers. Very high ceiling for this young lady!
Jada Crawford-Mavs Elite Durham 2026 6’2″ C/PF, Nettleton H.S. 2027-This is another incoming freshman with a very high ceiling. Jada sometimes gets out of position but she’s got all of the athletic abilities; speed, agility, and spring in her legs to elevate her game quickly. Playing at a high level this summer will definitely make her a better player this coming school season.
The Ball So Hard Event featured over 50 teams. This list is just a small sample of centers and power forwards I was fortunate enough to see play. Next up, BSHE Top Swing Guards.
