I wanted to drop something on players I caught that have elevated their games. Kianna Henning-5's PG (Cornerstone) [program_tooltip program_id='712796' first='SA' last='Hoops'] Elite and [player_tooltip player_id='309649' first='Joemoriah' last='Ben']-5'7 PG (Sterling) Houston Hoops United Blue made my Under The Radar Tip Sheet on my website

[player_tooltip player_id='388159' first='Lena' last='Newby']-6'2 F ( Steele) [program_tooltip program_id='712796' first='SA' last='Hoops'] Elite

Newby has simply taken her game to another level and more importantly, she showed it in front of college coaches which falls into my "seeing is believing" statements of not taking second-hand information from a lot of people with agendas. No agenda from me because she's "long and athletic" and stands above "the magic number" which will place her on many college coaches' "short list" no pun intended. She played the passing lane, and did a good job of both rebounding and defending but watching her "play the passing lane" and handling the ball afterward was nice. She scored off the dribble, finished after contact, and even dropped the jumper, 3-ball included

[player_tooltip player_id='509654' first='Aaliyah' last='Scott']-5'7 PG (Lewisville) [program_tooltip program_id='715158' first='Team' last='Stay Ready']

Scott is another Aaliya that can sing, she's also poised while interviewing people but her "poise under pressure" on the court sings a totally different tune as she falls into that "prototype point guard" role where she understands how to run a team, control the tempo and set her teammates up for good looks. Her seeing the floor in the set, as well as in the open court has taken off, she also takes the defender off the dribble to score or dish. She can drop the jumper from outside but her defense, both in the set as well as baseline to baseline has been solid all season

[player_tooltip player_id='660351' first='Natalie' last='Magallanes']-5'8 PG (Legacy) [program_tooltip program_id='713027' first='West' last='Texas Blazers']

Magalannes showed me I wasn't seeing a mirage last year when she found ways to put the ball in the basket. I didn't even take notes this time around because she smoothly did it again and her ability to attack the basket with either hand and finish with either hand made her hard to handle, her deceptive first step helped make that happen but she also creates her shot under pressure and knocked down both the mid and long-range with a hand in her face

[player_tooltip player_id='206963' first='Taylor' last='Craver']-5'9 CG ( Cedar Hill) [program_tooltip program_id='713454' first='Lady' last='Jets'] 17U 3SSB

Craver is an athletic guard that understands how to use her athleticism on both ends. First of all, her explosiveness off the dribble is among the best in Texas and when you factor in she's strong, has nice body control and contact is irrelevant yet so is her tiring because she goes hard on defense, on the ball, baseline to baseline. She's one of those "never takes a play-off" type of player and whether it's in high school or club ball, she's the same yet her pull-up jumper as well as court vision were also on display

[player_tooltip player_id='206972' first='Madison' last='Bob']-5'10 SG (Hightower) [program_tooltip program_id='712962' first='Texas' last='Phenoms']

Bob has progressed every season since I saw her in middle school in what seems like eons ago yet she too is "long and athletic" which I failed to mention was the base earlier, yet her intangibles are helping to separate her into another. She understands how to set the defender up, to either elevate over them and drop the jumper, mid to long-range yet she also elevates as she attacks the basket off the dribble. She rebounds, on both ends and scored on putbacks, after contact but her defense in the set, as well as timing to block shots along with playing the passing lane were all solid
