Gateway Challenge Top 2027 Forwards

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top Class of 2027 forwards that we got a chance to watch at last weekend's USJN Gateway Challenge in Chesterfield, MO. We saw some very impressive young forwards who will be entering the high school ranks in the fall.       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/04/Dasia-Scott-II.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-631273" /></figure>   Dasia Scott (Midwest United 16U): A 6'1" forward from St. Louis who has been playing up at least two grade levels during the past couple of years and more than holding her own against the older players. She is a physical post player with good footwork and tough moves to score around the basket. She also has a nice perimeter game with the ability to beat defenders off the drive and knock down jump shots. She is a force when she really asserts herself.   ********         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Eve-Long.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-655021" /></figure>   Eve Long (Kansas Eclipse 17U-Blue Star): A 6'1" forward from Olathe (KS) who was playing up at the 17U level and doing an excellent job on a very talented team. She is an elite athlete who runs the court well and has the ability to block shots with her great length and timing. Her motor is also impressive, which leads to some very productive basketball. She does a lot of work around the basket but she can also handle and pass the ball.   *********           <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Destiny-Manyawu.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-655022" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='803061' first='Destiny' last='Manyawu'] (Kansas Eclipse 14U-Blue Star): A 6'1" forward from Staley who has the size and length to impact the game at both ends of the floor. She is good strength and mobility in the post as she catches the ball well and can finish over either shoulder. She can also put the ball on the floor from the high post with a nice move. I also saw her hitting 3-pointers during warm-ups. She has a very bright future ahead of her.   ********         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Hadley-Gravatt.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-655023" /></figure>   Hadley Gravatt (Kansas Eclipse 14U-Blue Star): A 6'0" small forward from Liberty who can excel anywhere on the court with her size and basketball skills. She is an excellent passer who was dropping pinpoint dimes on the fast break. She is also a three-level scorer who was knocking down open 3-pointers along with a nice one-handed runner in the lane. She can also score inside over smaller defenders with his height.   *********       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Ellie-Moore.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-652104" /></figure>   Ellie Moore (Missouri Prime 14U): A 5'9" forward from Troy who is a matchup problem with her versatile skill set. She is a strong post player who can play the physical game inside with how she establishes her position and scores in the paint. She also sets tough screens. She can also handle the ball and facilitate offense with her excellent passing ability and go coast to coast on the dribble after grabbing a rebound.       <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Aziza-Hendricks.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-655024" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='849001' first='Aziza' last='Hendricks'] (Phenom 14U): A 5'11" forward who is long and athletic and plays a blue-collar style of basketball around the basket. The young lefty is a good finisher around the basket and she is a very active rebounder who gives excellent effort. She also runs the court very well to get in the transition game.   *******         <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/05/Tamara-Currie.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-655025" /></figure>   Tamara Currie (Phenom 14U): A 5'10" forward who is very strong and plays with a lot of activity and desire around the basket. She is a very good rebounder who gives a good second and third effort on the boards. Her second jump inside is also very quick as well.
