Historically, I have had a chance to catch some amazing players from Lake City Pride who are across the Louisiana state line so it got me thinking about how far back it was when I first saw them, and using the magic of the search bar, 2017 popped up yet be ready for these talented players to pop up

[player_tooltip player_id='943322' first='Shanna' last='Simien']-5'7 G (JS Clark)

Simien left me speechless over a year ago when one of the many INDIVIDUAL SHOWCASES I cover and one thing I love is to see progression in players. She understands the game, and she plays within herself yet in the blink of an eye she can score in droves, off the dribble as well as from outside but her body control on her finishes is ahead of her years, and so is her pull-up jumper with a hand in her face but she does a good job defending, on the ball, as well as playing the passing lane

[player_tooltip player_id='929515' first='Kay'Len' last='Alexander'] - 5'11 F (Broussard MS)

Alexander was too good for me to look in the book and find her name yet it only takes me a couple of minutes to know what I'm looking at, I didn't want to miss anything. Starting with her being "long and athletic" which is the base, her intangibles are special like she has UPS. Solid timing to make whoever challenges her think about it, she blocked shots with authority and handled the ball afterward. She showed she could drop the jumper, and score around the basket, yes putbacks included as she rebounds on both ends but she also showed a powerful first step to attack the basket and even showed a nice spin move to finish. Her turnaround jumper was also impressive, and her upside is SCARY

[player_tooltip player_id='1273780' first='Maggy' last='Mitchell']-5'11 F(Egan)

Mitchell uses her size nicely around the basket, she understands positioning and hits the boards, but she also showed her versatility by handling the ball after the defensive rebound and going "coast to coast" and finishing. She has a deceptive first step in the set, this was major because she scored off the dribble and finished after contact and her playing the passing lane was also nice

[player_tooltip player_id='943318' first='Kamylle' last='Jones']-5'8 G (Iowa)

Jones is an athletic guard who applies heat on both ends. Her "on the ball" pressure was nice, and so was her scoring off the dribble, body control was also solid. She has a nice jumper, both in the set as well as in transition but her court vision, especially in the open court had me smiling while watching her play the passing lane JUST DID IT for me

[player_tooltip player_id='943329' first='Avery' last='Cournoyer']-5'5 G (Merryville)

Cournoyer also played the passing lane well but watching her use a deceptive first step with a slight HEZ was nice as she attacked the basket numerous times. She also does a good job "creating her shot" under pressure and dropped the pull-up jumper while being defended

[player_tooltip player_id='946192' first='Kenadie' last='Jackson']-5'8 G (Broussard MS) 2028

Jackson plays up and she has UPS to go along with being an athletic guard. Her baseline-to-baseline pressure was nice, she also defends in the set yet has good hands and caught whatever was thrown her way and finished around the basket against taller players

Camri Primeaux-5'4 G (Midland)

Primeaux is heady, plays within herself and her shot selection is good. She scored attacking the basket and has good body control to finish and that includes after contact but she also showed she could drop it from outside with the pull-up jumper

Historically, I have had a chance to catch some amazing players from Lake City Pride who are across the Louisiana state line so it got me thinking about how far back it was when I first saw them, and using the magic of the search bar, 2017 popped up yet be ready for these talented players to pop up
