The summer circuit is a pivotal time for recruits to add new elements to their game when often times, they are restricted to a coach’s system that doesn’t necessarily maximize the versatility of the player.
Holohan makes her home in the paint on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, she possesses good lateral footwork in the post, takes high percentage shots, can attack the paint straight at you or play with her back against the basket on either side. Either way, she takes high percentage shots and looks at ease with the ball in her hand. She has good mobility running the floor and can make needle thin passes to open teammates for easy buckets. Perhaps the most exciting part to her blossoming game is her ability to block shots which she does frequently and effectively.
Sotell is aggressive, and is always looking to run the floor and attack the basket. When she does get into the paint, she makes it hard for defenders commit to either guarding her. Sotell has an unorthodox double underhand layup shot when she is in the paint, she will need to adjust that to avoid creating additional turnovers as more teams put an emphasis on guarding her. She is a willing and dynamic passer with good vision and instincts. Likes to come off picks and shoot her shot. She can get you off balanced and beat you off the dribble. She’s a dangerous and capable 3PT shooter.rn
Pelish is a true point guard that looks to distribute the rock at all times and find high quality shots for her teammates. She possesses great basketball IQ in transition and when she is running the point in half court sets. She can make the extremely difficult pass look really easy. What is she lacks in explosiveness, she makes up for it with using her physicality to protect from turning the ball over.
Antoine will look to take her game to the next level. She looks dominant when on the floor. Plays with an edge and IQ to match. Her ability to score in the paint in a variety of ways will continue to cause matchup problems this upcoming season. She runs the floor with purpose usually from using her defense into offense. She can go floor to floor in transition and finish with authority and will always look to push the floor. She also is very comfortable shooting from the perimeter and possesses good range.
Cedano is one of the best shooters in her class that I’ve scouted. She brings a lot of speed and can get up and down the floor quickly. Cedano’s shot mechanics are elite, her release point is high with a quick release. Cedano prefers to play on the perimeters but doesn’t mind creating her own shot in the paint and using her physicality. She’s also a savvy playmaker when drawing double teams and uses the space she creates on the floor for her teammates to get her the ball for high % shots. Has all the tools to be an elite defender and will look to take the next step in her development.
