A tournament that brought some great teams and competition together, while showing off to everyone watching that there are some real hoopers in the 2025 class. The players listed below are ones that I saw help their teams to victory on more than one occasion this weekend, enjoy!
Autumn Dibb Autumn Dibb 5’10” | SG Muskego | 2025 State WI put together a weekend to remember with how well her and her team performed. Dibb, a small forward with a physical presence near the hoop, had her way on both sides of the floor against any opponent she faced this weekend. She displayed a crafty scoring ability, some lock down defense, and a physical prowess, leading her 24:UP 2025 team to an overall 4-0 record. She is the type of player that everyone wants on their team but hates to play against. She wasn’t the only player making some noise for this team this weekend but she was the most consistent and efficient throughout her 4 games. Looking forward Dibb has a fairly high ceiling with a good amount of promise, I’m excited to see what she makes of it.
A point guard has several duties on the court. Some of which may include to run their team both emotionally and vocally, create for the others around them, control the speed/tempo of the game, understand what the objective of their team is, and to be able to make the right decisions when it comes down to it. These are all things that Hailey LaVoy displayed this weekend at the Champions Challenge. LaVoy showed off that she was one of the best controllers of a game that I had a chance to watch. A player who really understands the game of basketball and understands how to break down a defense when she has the rock. When watching her compete you won’t really say that she does anything flashy, but more-so just makes “it” happen. What is “it” you may ask? You’ll never know until that moment, but once you see “it”, you know.
Highlights
Another point guard who really jumped off of the screen when you see her team play is Bentley Drout Bentley Drout 5’4″ | PG Kimberly | 2025 State WI . Drout is a fast moving guard who has an excellent handle, above average vision, and a nasty step-back jump shot. She is the type of player who can make a multitude of three pointers in the blink of an eye or blow by her defender off of the dribble for a score at the hoop each play, completely changing the outcome of the contest. Defensively, she is a scrappy defender who really is great with her on-ball pressure. Not to mention she is one of the first on the floor or diving into the stands for a loose ball when the opportunity presents itself. This team had a great weekend with Drout at the point, I expect that to continue into the rest of the spring/summer season.
Quinn Arundel Quinn Arundel 5’5″ | PG Mother McAuley | 2026 State IL is a player that primary is known for her shooting ability and rightfully so. What many don’t talk about is her skill to create other opportunities because of how well she can shoot the ball. There is so many situations that unfold in front of her that wouldn’t without her shooting stroke and that was on full display this weekend. She was scoring in bunches, helping find open teammates, and running a muck in the open court. The best part about her weekend is that her play really helped her EBA Ice 2026 team to an undefeated record. This EBA 2026 Ice team played up in the 2025 age level and still left on top of their pool. This just speaks to how well they competed in general. As for Arundel, I expect her to stay as one of the top players/shooters in the state of Illinois going into summer ball. With how dedicated she seems, the sky is the limit.
Oumou Dowling
Oumou Dowling
When it comes to an all tournament player we are talking about an individual who brings several different abilities and intangibles to the floor. A player that did this on more than one occasion this weekend was Oumou Dowling of Let It Rain 2025 Grey. Dolwing showed that she has a very deep offensive “bag” with the ability to be deadly from the field at all three levels. She possesses good size and great speed for that size along with a high motor that doesn’t seem to ever give up. When it comes to defense she has the versatility to switch between the 1-4 position currently. As she gets older she will mainly be staying on the 2-3 but may have to switch, depending on what defensive scheme her team is playing. When it comes to one of most well-rounded players I saw this weekend at the 2025 level, Dolwing is in that conversation.
