Donovan Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='135633' first='Gabriella' last='Ross'] (2023) commits to UMass Lowell

Playing Division I basketball seemed like a formality for Donovan Catholic senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='135633' first='Gabriella' last='Ross'], and she turned that into a reality on May 8, committing to UMass Lowell.

Ross accumulated over 1,400 points in her career, averaging a career-high 19.8 points per game as a senior in 24 games. Ross also averaged 5.8 rebounds a game, 2.1 steals a game and sunk 43 three-pointers on the year. She also finished with over 100 career three-pointers and 150 career steals, a great achievement for a great player. She is among the highlights of Lowell's incoming freshman class.

Middle Township's [player_tooltip player_id='404202' first='Jada' last='Elston'] (2023) commits to Fairleigh Dickinson

Another top-end player in the 2023 class has decided to stay in-state, but still playing at a Division I level as [player_tooltip player_id='404202' first='Jada' last='Elston'], the engine behind the NJSIAA South Jersey Group II champions committed to Fairleigh Dickinson on May 7.

There's not much more we can say about Elston, who averaged a career-high 17.5 points per game with Middle Township last season. Her senior year saw her take over games at a rate that hadn't been seen before. Her past two seasons at Middle have helped to put her on the map as a court general and playmaker, able to do damage in a number ways during a game.

St. Thomas Aquinas' [player_tooltip player_id='406948' first='Amarilis' last='Shubick'] (2025) reclassifies, transfers to Perkiomen School (Pa.)

Shocking news came to St. Thomas Aquinas as expected 2024 superstar [player_tooltip player_id='406948' first='Amarilis' last='Shubick'] transferred to the Keystone State and Perkiomen School in Pennsylvania on May 9.

Shubick also reclassified to the 2025 class in the move as well. The Spartans lose their point guard and an elite passer, someone who saw a dip in offensive production last season, but made up for it on both sides of the ball. Incoming junior [player_tooltip player_id='414407' first='Leah' last='Crosby'], who had a strong sophomore season for STA, will most likely take over that role as the main piece for the program moving forward.

Medford Tech's [player_tooltip player_id='481575' first='Jada' last='Jacobs'] (2023) commits to Georgian Court

We add yet another commit to the mix for the senior class in [player_tooltip player_id='481575' first='Jada' last='Jacobs'], one of the best all-around players in South Jersey, who committed to Georgian Court University on May 10.

How Jacobs only found a spot at a Division II team compared to playing Division I basketball seems crazy, especially after leading Medford Tech to its first playoff win in program history this season. In just two years, she's scored over 1,000 points along with nearly 350 rebounds and 175+ steals. This past season, Jacobs was one of the leading scorers in New Jersey, averaging 21.5 PPG and just missing out on a double-double average at 9.7 RPG.

Pope John's [player_tooltip player_id='325223' first='Madison' last='Miller'] (2024) transfers to Morris Catholic

We have transfer news within New Jersey to report in Pope John big [player_tooltip player_id='325223' first='Madison' last='Miller'], who will be joining forces with the Pauldo twins and [player_tooltip player_id='325219' first='Alexis' last='Rosenfeld'] at Morris Catholic for her senior season.

Miller averaged a double-double last season with Pope John at 11.5 PPG and 10.2 RPG in 29 games. She's consistently been one of the better interior players in the state in recent years and she stepped up her offensive game a lot as a junior. Over the past two seasons, Miller has racked up 90 blocks in 54 games, good enough for 1.7 blocks a game overall.

Mainland's [player_tooltip player_id='488762' first='Kasey' last='Bretones'] (2024) offered by Marist

The offers continue to come in for Mainland junior [player_tooltip player_id='488762' first='Kasey' last='Bretones'], receiving another Division I offer this month in MAAC program Marist on May 21.

There's so much to love about a team bringing back its four best players next season, and among those, Bretones led the Mustangs in scoring at just under 12.0 PPG. She's a versatile player on the floor, able to function as both a guard and forward with the Mazur twins up top and Sidney Stokes down low. We've seen her attack the rim much more often than settling from beyond the arc, though she can do both.

Montclair Immaculate's [player_tooltip player_id='559076' first='Jayah' last='Curtis'] (2026) offered by North Carolina A&T

Not long after her first high school season, Montclair Immaculate freshman [player_tooltip player_id='559076' first='Jayah' last='Curtis'] received her first Division I offer from HBCU program North Carolina A&T on May 22.

https://x.com/JayahCurtis/status/1660669944839782400?s=20

Curtis didn't play much as a freshman, getting bench time, but she was able to be productive on the court when asked, averaging 3.2 points a game and 1.5 rebounds a game in 17 games played. There's much that's left to be seen from the freshman guard, but playing on Team Sharp's 15U AAU team this spring and summer, she'll get plenty of high-level exposure for future success.
