These talented players, all listed at 5’4” and under, are small in stature but they all can impact the game in a big way.
Brooklynn Williams Brooklynn Williams 5'5" | PG Ursuline Academy | 2024 State MO (Midwest United 17U): A 5’4″2024 point guard from Ursuline Academy who knows how to run a team and also get her own shot off the dribble with her creative handles. She’s very quick and she is very good at setting her teammates up for good scoring opportunities.
******
Jael Green Jael Green 5'3" | PG University City | 2026 State MO (Lady BBE 15U): A 5’3″ 2026 point guard from University City who helped lead her team to the championship game on their bracket. She’s an excellent two-way performer with speed and quickness, plus a high basketball IQ. She drops excellent dimes and she has the ability to get a bucket at all three levels.
*****
Addie Owen (Phee Elite 15U-Olufson): A 5’4″ 2026 point guard from Incarnate Word Academy who helped her team to a bracket championship. She’s super quick and very tenacious on the defensive end with her relentless on-ball pressure. She can guard people the full length on the court and make them uncomfortable. She is also a good distributor who can make the open 3-point shot.
*******
Paige Sheppard (Midwest United 16U): A 5’1″ 2025 point guard from Cardinal Ritter who does a nice job at playing at her own pace. She is a good floor leader and distributor who directs traffic well and doesn’t get sped up too often. She does have a quick first step to get into the lane to make a floater. She will also knock down the open 3-pointer.
*******
Josie Christopher (Lady BBE 15U): A 5’3″ 2026 point guard from O’Fallon (IL) who can impact the game at both ends with her offensive skill and tenacity. She was one of the better perimeter shooters that I watched during the weekend as she drained a number of 3-pointers. She is also a tough and competitive defensive player that doesn’t back down from any challenge.
********
Riley Kerwin (Kansas Eclipse 16U- Blue Star): A 5’3″ guard from St. James Academy (KS) who had a really nice stroke from 3-point range. She made four triples in the game I watched her, which was the first game of the weekend. She was also crafty with her handles as she can get to spots on the floor or in the lane when she had to.
*******
Amali McBride Amali McBride 5'4" | PG St. Joseph's | 2025 State MO (Lady BBE 16U): A 5’4″ combo guard from Cardinal Ritter who has excellent quickness and a nice shooting stroke from 3-point range. She can change the tenor of the game in a couple of possessions with her shooting. She was also active on the defensive end as she moved her feet and created disruption.
*******
Daijah Jones Daijah Jones 5'5" | CG Cardinal Ritter College Prep | 2025 State MO (Phee Elite 16U): A 5’3″ 2025 point guard from Cardinal Ritter who knows how to play her position in an old-school manner. She’s a pass-first guard who makes her teammates better with her playmaking an unselfish play. She can also get a bucket herself with a deceptively quick burst into the lane or a pull up jumper from the mid range.
******
Tara Davis (TC Hoops 16U): A 5’4″ 2026 guard from Doniphan who can shoot the high-arching 3-pointer well with her quick release. She can also slash to the basket with her quickness. Her fundamentals were also good as she set solid screens off the ball to help get herself open.
*******
Landri Hammontree (Southeast Dynasty 16U): A 5’2″ 2025 point guard from Sikeston who is quick and did a good job of handling the ball against pressure. She knows how to get into the gaps of the defense and find her open teammates. She also hit a couple of 3-pointers in the game I watched her.
