Off the Board for 2024:
Raina McGowens Raina McGowens 5'10" | CG Wren | 2024 State SC will head to Western North Carolina after high school to play at UNC-Asheville. McGowens is looking to cap off her high school season next fall at Wren HS. She is currently running on the Grassroots Circuit with Lady Upward Stars 3SSB 2024.
Samira Khalil Samira Khalil 5'8" | CG Hammond | 2024 State SC is off the board now and headed to Elon University after high school. Khalil (2024) who attends Hammond in Columbia runs with A’ja Wilson Elite 17U.
New #1 in Town in 2025:
Lauren Jacobs Lauren Jacobs 5'9" | PG Heathwood Hall | 2025 State SC will take over the #1 spot in the 2025 Palmetto State with the departure of Tamia Watkins Tamia Watkins 6'2" | PF Andrew Jackson | 2025 State SC to the Hoop State next year. Jacobs has picked up some offers this spring after winning a SCISA Class 4A State Championship at Heathwood Hall.
Expanding Her Game:
Cokey Suddeth Cokey Suddeth 6'0" | SF Palmetto Christian Academy | 2025 State SC really continues her play from the perimeter this spring with the Charleston Raptors. Suddeth plays in the post during the high school at Palmetto Christian Academy. Suddeth keeps gaining more confidence every time out this spring with from knocking down 17–19-foot jumpers. Cokey is a member of the 2025 Palmetto State Class.
IDreams 16U Duo:
Jordyn Adams Jordyn Adams 5'6" | PG Fairfield Central | 2025 State SC and Sydni Anderson Sydni Anderson 6'2" | C Lexington | 2026 State SC both play on IDreams 16U. Adams a point guard from Fairfield Central HS (Winnsboro) provides good leadership on the floor while dropping floaters along the way. Jordyn really likes to work in the lost art of the bounce pass to her teammates.
Anderson a member of the 2026 Palmetto State Class attends White Knoll HS (Lexington). Sydni will contest and challenge shots around the basket but seems to be most effective cleaning up on the boards. She really does a nice job of staying active on both ends of the floor. She really embraces on being a post player and playing down on the block.
Blake is a Double-Double:
Dianna Blake Dianna Blake 6'1" | PF Ashley Ridge | 2024 State SC is a constant double-double in the paint for the Lowcountry Premier 2024 squad. Blake who attends Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville) does her best work around the paint. She can step-out for a short corner or elbow jumper from time to time. Dianna is most effective finishing up on putbacks and creating opportunities for herself downlow.
Prep Girls Hoops has seen her play 3 times this spring and all 3 outings were WINS and double-double outings.
One Last Go Around:
Devon Yarde Devon Yarde 5'6" | PG Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC , Trinity Mickell Trinity Mickell 6'0" | C Allendale-Fairfax | 2024 State SC , Tamya Hutchinson Tamya Hutchinson 5'4" | PG Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC , Morgan Scott Morgan Scott 5'10" | PF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC and Madison Washington Madison Washington 5'10" | PF Bluffton | 2024 State SC has won a lot of games over the years between high school and with Lowco WBB 2024. Yarde is a great athlete who does it in the classroom and the athletic field playing soccer and running cross country when she is not hooping it up for the Red, White and Blue.
Yarde has won 4 SCISA State Championships at Hilton Head Christian Academy on the hardwood since her time on the varsity as an 8th grader. Devon brings a great competitive edge on the floor and some uncanny court vision at times. She’s a proven WINNER on and off the court.
Mickell plays off the grid and that’s why she will be a steal for a program willing to take a chance on her. Trinity is strong and physical and really knows how to carve out space down low. She works for position and understands on how to finish through contact. Mickell plays at Allendale-Fairfax HS down in Allendale County.
Hutchinson is just coming off a solid weekend at the LBI Spring Invitational where she picked up a offer from South Carolina State University. Hutchinson has been part of the past 2 SCISA State Championship teams at Hilton Head Christian Academy. Tamya started her career at Estill HS where she piled up a lot scoring numbers for 3 years. Hutchinson shares the backcourt with Yarde here and on her high school team.
Morgan Scott Morgan Scott 5'10" | PF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC was able to pick up a SCISA State Championship Ring after coming over to Hilton Head Christian Academy last season. Scott who started off at May River HS was a great addition to the Lady Eagles squad. Scott compliments Mickell perfect downlow and at times extends it out to the wing. Can Scott, Hutchinson and Yarde win another SCISA Class 3A State Championship next fall?
Madison Washington Madison Washington 5'10" | PF Bluffton | 2024 State SC was available to play last weekend for Lowco WBB 2024. Washington a undersized post player plays at nearby Bluffton HS. Washington gives the Hilton Head area based team another option down low. Madison will look to play face-up at times.
This group pf ladies for the most part have been together for the 4 past summer even during the Pandemic. This is one last go around before they start their senior seasons in the fall. Plenty of talent to recruit right here. #RecruitThePalmettoState
The 2027 Palmetto State Class looks to be a very talented class. These young ladies will be freshmen in the classroom this coming fall. Prep Girls Hoops is already strongly monitoring this class and currently has 56 players in the database.
Next weekend marks the 2nd NCAA Live Period on the lady’s calendar. Where will your team be? Where will Prep Girls Hoops be in attendance?
