I watched the Fairfax Stars EYBL 15u team at the Fairfax summer spectacular a few weeks ago, and they were fantastic. I left any Fairfax Stars 15U EYBL players off my standouts list that weekend because they deserved a little more recognition as a team. They played with great intensity and bludgeoned teams all weekend with their defense. They won their first three games by a combined 107 points and won their whole bracket. They will participate in many big tournaments in July, so I want to talk about some of their most impactful players. These five girls I’ve got the chance to watch a good amount but make no mistake, this team is loaded with sleepers to watch.
Chase Dillon
Chase Dillon
Chase Dillon is an outstanding shooter, and it doesn’t take much time to realize that. After watching her for the first 5 minutes, I immediately knew she was a great shooter. Yes, she knocks down shots, but how fluid her shot looked and how confident she shot the ball was a great indication. She handled the ball well and was one of the better offensive players on the day.
Jalyn Childress
Jalyn Childress
2026 guard Jalyn Childress plays her high school ball at Lightridge, which has only been around for about three years. They could be better later, but they’ll be much better with Jalyn Childress in the next three years. Jalyn can shoot well from 3, and her offensive game will keep growing. She is good defensively and a player I like going forward.
Sam Donovan brings elite shooting to this team. She is excellent at shooting off the catch and was arguably her team’s best player as only a freshman. She has good defensive instincts, can handle the ball, and is a good athlete overall.
Highlights
I watched Laila Tull Laila Tull 5’8″ | CG South County | 2026 State VA play for South County last year, and she really impressed me. Laila is a fun and intriguing basketball player going forward. Laila has good size and is a smooth ball handler. Laila can get hot and put up points in bunches. She is a solid scorer and someone to watch, especially in NOVA.
Brooke Williams
Brooke Williams
Brooke Williams is another active and overall quality defender for this Fairfax Stars squad. She also rebounds well. She is a double-double machine, and her length makes her terrific on both ends. Brooke gets her hands in passing lanes and affects a lot of shots around the rim.
