With the countless outlets giving advice and posting nonsense, this is why I barely retweet what anyone else says because that’s their opinion, in fact, there aren’t many out here that I even hold conversations with but I’m glad that I went to the TABC event because I caught some add ons, I’ll be dropping more that in a few days but here’s part 2 of the NEW NAMES
Cedraiah Peterson Cedraiah Peterson 5'11" | PF South Grand Prairie | 2025 State TX -5’11 PF (South Grand Prairie) NTX Shockers 17U
#45 Peterson left me speechless at the TABC Girls Showcase and watching her simply control the game in the first half sold me. She uses her powerful frame around the basket to score, with pl;ayers literally hanging on her yet she’s athletic and can attack and finish off the dribble with either hand. Her midrange jumper was nice, and she even showed the long ball but her rebounding, on both ends and on the ball, pressure created havoc along with turnovers
Sedelia Wilson-Larkin Sedelia Wilson-Larkin 5'11" | SG Cotulla | 2025 State TX -5’10 SG (Cotulla) SA Finest
#47 Wilson-Larkin caught my eye years ago, yet I barely noticed her with the growth spurt, on and off the court. She’s long and athletic, remember that is the base, and watching her score however she wanted around the basket was nice as she elevated over defenders for not only buckets but also rebounds. Her mid to long-range jumper was nice, especially since she dropped it with a hand in her face. she attacked off the dribble and finished after contact but she saw the floor, this includes in transition after playing the passing lane
Alayna Yates Alayna Yates 6'1" | C Legacy | 2026 TX -6’1 C (Legacy) TNBA 17U
#50 Yates does #THROWBACK things from another era which always excites me and doing things you can’t teach, like her “you won’t outwork me” mindset always makes me smile. She battles for everything off the rim, in the air as well as “on the floor” yet her offensive skillset has continuously gotten better as her “hand sand footwork” also #THROWBACK has played a huge part in her becoming a double-double waiting to happen. What’s even more impressive is that she’s not done, huge upside
Aubrey Bowles Aubrey Bowles 6'3" | PF Cuero | 2025 State TX -6’3 PF (Cuero) Crossroad Queens
#55 Bowles has been rolling strikes since I caught her a couple of seasons ago and that first impression had me thinking about what she was on the verge of becoming because standing 75 inches, being long and athletic, with some pretty good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots is a good start. She’s finishing stronger around the basket, rebounding, on both ends and handling the ball in the open court but her creating her shot and dropping the midrange consistently was very nice
Naya Burleson Naya Burleson 5'11" | PF Buda Hays | 2025 State TX -5’11 PF (Buda Hays) Stat Elite
#56 Burleson caught my eye with her club team at the All Eyes On She event last season and her steadily adding more to her game during the playoffs, as well as the TABC High School Girls Showcase sealed her being here. She’s long and athletic, rebounds on both ends, handles the ball in transition, sees the floor, and can drop the jumper from midrange. She also attacks the basket and finishes after contact, her interior defense is solid but she also can step outside the paint and defend
Caleah Kennedy Caleah Kennedy 6'2" | PF MacArthur | 2025 State TX -6’2 PF (Macarthur) Lady Sharks
#57 Kennedy was another player that caught my eye last season because I saw a lot of upside to go along with her being “long and athletic”. Her timing was already there, she blocked shoots with ease, sometimes 2 or 3 in a row on the opposing team’s same possession but her adding the midrange has given her game another look and the long-range is about to give her countless options on the offensive end. Why, because she scores around the basket as well as off the dribble
