Yates is strong and powerful, and she shows it around the basket, yet she always has, and watching her get the “hands and footwork” down as well as finishing after contact around the basket with either hand. Yes, she stands above the magic number and can go coast to coast after rebounding, but her defending “on the ball” has shot up, so has her scoring off the dribble and seeing the floor see evaluations here

Yates was going to be placed on my BIGS Tip Sheet, yet her versatility and ability to change the momentum of games from either end warranted her placement here. She falls into that “you won’t outwork me” group, and seeing her going AFTA everything off the rim and the floor has been a treat for years. She finishes powerfully after contact, but she’s also handling the ball and starting the break after rebounding. Her defense and scoring off the dribble also looked good.

Yates is “strong and powerful” and when you call the roll of players in Texas with that, she’s among those at the top of the list. Her hands and footwork continue to give defenders problems, especially when she finishes with players hanging on her but she’s attacking stronger from the wing to score, as well as showing the short jumper. Defense and rebounding were also strong

Yates was reclassified from the 2025 class and went on a PGH Circuit tear falling into a double-double waiting-to-happen category. Well, she already was yet she’s even more powerful inside the paint scoring with players hanging on her. I guess her lateral movement needs to be mentioned as she’s also doing a good job defending outside the paint, inside is already solid, plus she’s showing the midrange and scoring off the dribble better

Double-double machine! Yet only a rising junior, I believes Yates can increase her scoring production by even more. She has the size and strength to dominate in the lane when she hits the “on” button. In multiple close tournament games, Yates was able to slow the game down by LIVING at the free throw line because teams strategy became to swipe at her as they could not keep Yates off the glass. Interior damage! And still much potential to tap into.

Yates continues to elevate her game and after being reclassified to the 2026 class, her stock will continue to rise. She’s powerful around the basket and OVERPOWERS the defender to score yet her going after offensive rebounds gives me chills and thrills, she rebounds on both ends. She’s “vocal on the court” from the 5 position, who does that nowadays and is dropping the short jumper. What I really enjoyed was her attacking off the dribble showing more EXPOSIVENESS to get to the basket

Yates is a monster inside the paint yet she’s about to become even scarier as she’s been reclassified to the 2026 class. To give you an idea of how strong and powerful she is, I have watched her score with players literally hanging on her back. She falls into that double-double waiting to happen group, her court vision and attacking off the dribble has improved yet even more importantly, I truly enjoyed how she kept pumping her teammates up and THAT is something you can’t teach

It seemed like Alayna took the “Warm-Up” tournament quite literally, because she never cooled down. Standing at a full 6’2″ Yates uses her body as sacrifice and shield to get after loose balls. The point-center not only handle the ball coast to coast weaving through defenders but she also reminded her teammates of the plays and locations in real time. Yates’ stock is rising and she is only scraping the heels of her potential.

Yates power inside the paint has always been solid and she continues to show she can score around the basket with players literally hanging on her body but her desire going after everything off the rim had me smiling, so did her defense inside the paint. I was impressed at her guarding her man in transition as well
