I was able to attend the event on Sunday, June 18 and got a look at all of the teams that played that day. Here’s a look at some additional top standouts.
1.
Morgan Seshiki

– Diamond Bar/OC Rhythm 17U National Blue 2024
Seshiki is a solid scoring guard. She can handle the ball both on the break and in the halfcourt and she’s comfortable creating her own shot. She’s a consistent three-point shooter who can attack closeouts well; uses shot fakes to get closer to the basket and can hit the pull-up midrange jumper. Good catch and shoot three-point shooter. Looks to make the right pass in the halfcourt if shot isn’t there. She hits the glass well too.
2.
Zoe Iwanaka

– SoCal Shooters 2027
Iwanaka stood out as a solid ball-handler who can sometimes play either guard position. She was good off the ball and alongside another playmaker and she can handle the ball if needed. A little small but can still be effective. Moves well off the ball and is a good catch and shoot three-point shooter especially from the corners. A good player to watch as she enters high school.
3. Nina Saiki – Portola/OC Rhythm 17U National Blue 2025
Saiki is another smaller point guard but plays bigger than her size. She’s very unselfish in the halfcourt; in the games I saw she was always willing to make the extra pass and keep the ball moving. Able to drive and kick to open teammates. In transition, she keeps her head up and pushes the pace; can finish at the basket. Able to move off ball too with a good catch and shoot three-point shot.
4. Samaya Cody – AV Elite
Cody is an interesting prospect/player. She’s young and a little raw but the talent is obviously there. What I noticed was her ability to pass out of the paint. She plays close to the basket and can make good, hard passes back out when the defense surrounds her. A little rushed at times, but the instincts are there. She has the tools to be a good defender around the basket and a good rebounder and she showed some instinct with boxing out and grabbing boards.
