Raining Threes Here Today:
The Northwood Academy Lady Chargers should have no problems shooting the ball this coming season. The Lady Chargers connected on several three-pointers and just solid perimeter shooting. Morgan Jones Morgan Jones 5'6" | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC led the way with her ability to knockdown mid-range jumpers and the three-ball. Jones is a SHOOTER which every college program needs at the next level. Jones runs with the Low Country Premier 2024 on the Grassroots Circuit.
Ashton Wyndham Ashton Wyndham 5'5" | SG Northwood Academy | 2024 State SC and Ava Reyes Ava Reyes 5'6" | SG Northwood Academy | 2025 State SC joined in on the fun today for the Lady Chargers. Wyndham was able to score the ball at the rim on occasion at times today. Reyes is best suited at spotting up and setting her feet out on the wing. This solid outside shooting doesn’t even count the Birch sisters in the equation.
Ella Mae Schepp Ella Mae Schepp 5'8" | SG Oceanside Collegiate Academy | 2025 State SC plays over at Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant. Schepp likes to play her games from the corners and especially from behind the three-point line. She connected on several three-pointers today for the Lady Landsharks.
Ella Hunter Ella Hunter 5'4" | CG Oceanside Collegiate | 2026 State SC might have been the smallest player on the floor but that didn’t stop her from making shots here today. Hunter plays the game very confident and rightfully so from the perimeter. She has no hesitation whatsoever when it came to letting fly from deep range.
Richburg Making Waves Today:
Janiya Richburg Janiya Richburg 5'9" | SF Loris | 2025 State SC was on a mission at times today with her play. The left-handed forward from Loris HS in Horry County was setting the tone early with her great passing skills and movement around the floor. She was constantly in position to make a play on both ends of the court today. Janiya would mix it up under the glass claiming boards off the glass and leading the break up the floor at times like a point guard. Richburg a 3-sport athlete for the Lady Lions will provide plenty of leadership this season for the Class 3A school.
Page and Ford Lead Wild Gators:
Gwendasia Page Gwendasia Page 5'8" | SF Lake View | 2024 State SC and Jaleya Ford Jaleya Ford 5'4" | PG Lake View | 2024 State SC have one more season to play for a Class 1A State Championship. These ladies have been the foundation of Lake View HS Lady Wild Gators since the 7th grade.
Page will start her 6th year on varsity for the Lady Wild Gators this coming season for Head Coach Larry Inman. Gwendasia is a very versatile young lady and plays the game like a Swiss Army Knife at times. She does a bit of everything while on the floor. Page will look to attack the baseline as a slasher or simply look to get by a defender with a quick crossover move to the rack. Entering her senior she has scored 1,003 points, grabbed 779 rebounds while blocking 295 shots and picking up 321 steals. STAT SHEET STUFFER
Ford sets the tone for this Lake View HS program. Jaleya just like Page will be in her 6th year on varsity for the Lady Wild Gators. Ford has already scored 1,052 career points, grabbed 488 rebounds and picked up 265 steals. Jaleya likes to play aggressive from out top on the floor and play active in the passing lanes.
Page and Ford won’t see much time on the bench this coming season at all and expect them to log a lot of minutes for Coach Inman. Can they get by a very good Military Magnet or a scrappy Carvers Bay HS team this coming season in Class 1A?
Grice-Dukes Plays Well for Lady Tigers:
Jahmya Grice-Dukes Jahmya Grice-Dukes 5'8" | C Conway | 2025 State SC played well inside the paint today for the Conway HS Lady Tigers. Jahmya stays around the paint and really likes to play the game on contact. She was able to box out and knock around some defenders at times to clear out position down low. Can the Lady Tigers start up make some noise in region play this season? Grice-Dukes might be the one that leads them in that direction.
Senior POSTS:
Jerchel Geathers-Washington Jerchel Geathers-Washington 6'0" | PF Carvers Bay | 2024 State SC and Tynasjia Ford Tynasjia Ford 6'0" | C Oceanside Collegiate | 2024 State SC both are heading into their final season of high school basketball this fall. Geathers-Washington and the Carvers Bay HS Lady Bears will look to make a deep run into the post season this year. Jerchel will provide some leadership from the post position. She has the ability to move around well around the paint area with her nimble footwork. She can finish at the basket with either hand.
Ford is physical presence down low for the Lady Landsharks. She plays her best basketball 2 feet in from the basket with her soft hands and touch. Tynasjia is a great passer from the high post position. She can carve out space in the paint and work to receive to the ball.
These two ladies need to see some recruitment come in their direction especially if you’re looking for true post players.
