When a really solid offer is made I sometime use the phrase “coach is doing their homework”. The player may be underrated, be a great fit for that program, or maybe the coach is starting a trend recruiting that player. I’m going to give you a few examples of what I feel is coaches at the next level doing their homework.
Winowiecki recently received an offer from Concordia University – Ann Arbor. She’s coming off a really good spring grassroots season and is reaping the rewards. Winowiecki is as tough as they come and has always been an energy player that wins hustle points for her team. But now coaches are noticing her outside shooting and ability to score off the wing. This was a great offer by the Concordia staff to a player on the rise.

Freshcorn might be the most underrated player in the state. The Adrian College and Jackson College coaches were doing their homework by recognizing the talent that she holds. Let’s be real, I’ve seen with my own eyes (on multiple occasions) Freshcorn go toe-to-toe with D1 recruits. She’s tough both physically and mentally and has an elite feel for the action. Freshcorn can create for her teammates as well as get buckets on her own when her team needs them.

Jungwirth recently received offers from Albion College and Olivet College. Well done Albion and Olivet staffs, well done. I’ve always been very high on her game as well as her upside as a prospect. I’ve seen high level prospects struggle to stop her physical 2 dribble drive. Jungwirth has solid footwork on both ends of the floor and has the potential to become an elite defender. Especially with her overall versatility. Jungwirth is the type of player that I don’t really even like to give a position because I think she can play effectively in a variety of spots.
They’re doing big things in Belleville and Buschell is a big part of it all. She recently received an offer from Central Michigan University. Very smart move by the Chippewa staff. Buschell has always carried herself with that D1 feel. She’s a dynamic guard that uses her ability to change the pace of the game with precision. Buschell has a calm and cool confidence and her game follows. She’s a terrific 2 way player that employs excellent defensive vision.
