Ellis put in a very good performance during game 1 of the camp. The young guard showed a lot of skill on the court. Great handles and great shiftiness with the ball on her hands. She knows how to get a defender moving one way and getting to the rim. Ellis also has a nice mid range shot and jumper. She is a very polished young player who has the confidence from her teammates and coaches.
Freeman is taking off right where she ended the Spring travel season. The young guard is a special player with great speed, great skills, and a determination. One play that sums it up was a steal, a Coast to Coast sprint down the court,v and a left hand finish. Defensively, Freeman causes havoc. Offensively, she has a quick first step and can get to the rim from the left or right side. Freeman played well and was definitely a standout.
Allen (Cover Photo) was one of the top young guards in the building who was garnering a lot of attention. The young guard was a blur on the court and has a very impressive skillset. Allen has very good handles is a polished and shifty player. She did a great job of running the point and controlling the offense, making plays for herself but also getting the ball to her teammates. Allen has a lot of athleticism and in the open court is where it really standouts.
Ny’keria Flowers was one of the most exciting and talented guards in the building. She has the ability to get into the paint and punish the defense with a floater or short midrange. Flowers also had good handles and did a good job of controlling things on the court for her very young team.
Clermont was a Day 1 Standout particularly in Game 1. Moore was good on both ends of the court. Her quickness translates into easy buckets in the paint and fast break points. Defensively, Clermont was a hawk on the floor, playing great on ball defense and clogging up the passing lanes. She had several deflections that turned into steals and easy layups for her team.
