Kewpie's Court Shootout Class of 2027 Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2027 standouts from Saturday's Kewpie's Court Shootout, which was held at Columbia Hickman High. This is a very, very talented group of incoming freshmen in our state.     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Symone-Walker.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670195" /></figure>   Symone Walker (Father Tolton): A talented 6'2" forward who is going to be a problem in Mid-Missouri for quite awhile. She is an excellent shot blocker on defense with good length and timing. She has good athleticism and she runs the court very well. She can score inside and she can also handle the ball and pass it with her good playmaking skills.   *****     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Brielle-Mays.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670196" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='803073' first='Brielle' last='Mays'] (Staley): A 5'8" combo guard who has an impressive offensive skill set at her disposal. She is an excellent slasher on the drive to score in the lane. She can also play well off the ball with her ability to knock down the open 3-pointer. She is excellent in the open court at both ends of the court.   ******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Olivia-Davis.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670197" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='602253' first='Olivia' last='Davis'] (Boonville): A 6'5" center who has an imposing presence in the lane with her height and length. She does a good job of keeping the ball high when she catches the ball in the post or on an offensive rebound to score. She screens well and she has a nice touch around the basket.   ******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Destiny-Manyawu-II.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670198" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='803061' first='Destiny' last='Manyawu'] (Staley): A 6'1" forward who has a bright future with her ability to impact a game at both ends of the court. She runs the court very well and she can score inside very effectively. She is also a good shot blocker with her length and timing in the paint. She can also defend the pick and roll with her mobility and instincts.   *******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Nyla-Scales-II.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670199" /></figure>   [player_tooltip player_id='970764' first='Nyla' last='Scales'] (Cardinal Ritter): A 5'6" point guard who has good quickness and playmaking ability. She is very effective on the dribble penetration as she can hit the runner in the lane or locate the open teammate. Her burst and first step are good as she can break down a defender. She also fits well in Ritter's pressure defense with her speed and quicks.   ******   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Sway-Jones.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670204" /></figure>   Sway Jones (Battle): A talented young wing player with good height who fit in very well with Battle's crew of talented veteran guards. She is very skilled and she played off the ball and knocked down a number of 3-pointers. She has a nice feel for the game as she played under control and didn't force a lot of things.   *******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Maddie-Elliott.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670205" /></figure>   Maddie Elliott (Father Tolton): A 6'1" post player who's physically strong and knows how to move people around in the paint to establish her position. She catches the ball well in traffic and can finish with a nice drop step. She also passes the ball well. She can also rebound the ball and throw a good outlet pass.   ******     <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2023/06/Hannah-Shifley.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-670206" /></figure>   Hannah Shifley (Father Tolton): A 6'1" forward who did an excellent job of establishing her position in the low post. She plays physical and she knows how to carve out her piece of real estate inside with a good seal. She also catches the ball well on the high-low set to finish.
