This series of articles speaking about the 2026 class goes hand-in-hand with our recent 2026 rankings update. We proceed to the Skyland Conference, which had six teams win 60 percent or more of their games overall, plus two 20-game winners. These are our 2022-23 All-Freshman picks.

A special honorable mention pick goes to forward [player_tooltip player_id='601338' first='Maggie' last='Simpson'] from Delaware Valley, who averaged 7.6 PPG and 7.5 RPG in 26 games played.

[player_tooltip player_id='559028' first='GiGi' last='Battle'] - Rutgers Prep

In a conference with a number of great freshmen, Battle just missed out on Freshman of the Year honors, but held her own against nationally ranked opposition on a stacked roster of talent. Her numbers don't tell the entire story, averaging 9.9 PPG and 5.7 RPG in 30 games played, but add to that nearly a made three-pointer a game and just under 2.0 SPG, and you have a blossoming 2026 prospect who is destined to be even better as a sophomore.

[player_tooltip player_id='601337' first='Aletha' last='Reynolds'] - Bernards

Reynolds is only a freshman and she led Bernards in scoring comfortably, averaging 11.1 PPG with 8.3 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.5 made three-pointers a game and 2.3 SPG. She was the go-to presence for Bernards, showcasing great rebounding ability early on which turned to strong scoring later in the year as she found that feel for the game. Her three-point shooting was consistent and in playing with a purpose, she found tons of success.

[player_tooltip player_id='601339' first='Natalie' last='Sroka'] - Belvidere

It was a tough choice for us when selecting a Freshman of the Year player, but Sroka was just a sight to be seen this season and is our pick for the award. In 23 games, she averaged 17.6 PPG and 2.7 RPG along with a block a game, nearly a steal a game, and just under two made three-pointers a game. She was a scoring machine and led Belvidere in just about every statistical category across the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='601341' first='Sophia' last='Georgiades'] - Ridge

Players that showcased a lot of promise in a number of different facets of the game were players that we picked to this team. Georgiades embodies that perfectly and had a strong first season in high school, averaging 9.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 1.7 APG, just under 3.0 SPG, 0.6 made threes a game and 0.5 BPG. Her scoring was her strongsuit on the season and she had some big time offensive performances to build upon for the winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='601342' first='Madie' last='Petak'] - Voorhees

Petak was a consistent offensive player and developed into one of the better defensive guards in the Skyland, let alone defensive freshmen overall. She averaged 9.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.2 BPG and 1.9 SPG in 26 games played. She hit a rough patch just after midway through the season, but rebounded and finished strong, averaging 11.7 PPG in her final six games, including five double-digit scoring performances.

[player_tooltip player_id='601343' first='Kaylee' last='Lauber'] - Somerville

Rounding out the list is Lauber, who was a relatively easy choice for us to include on this team, making quite the presence in her first high school season. Let's run down the stats: 11.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.0 BPG, 3.6 SPG and 1.3 made three-pointers a game in 20 games played with Somerville. Lauber seemed to be doing everything and anything on the floor for her team to get a win.
