Sanford Sports Academy 16U Grey Deep Dive

The Sanford Sports Academy is loaded with top prospects and the 16U Grey has a number of high-level players poised to take their game to the next level! This group has a lot of athleticism, work ethic, and basketball IQ. They do an excellent job of spacing the floor, setting quality screens, and moving without the basketball. Their early offense gets them a ton of points with great reads in transition and running their lanes hard. On defense, they apply intense pressure and do a really nice job keeping the ball in front and aggressively forcing turnovers. They are coached by successful veteran coach Lynn Frederick and are having a huge summer of developmental basketball in preparation for the 2023-24 season.   [player_tooltip player_id='613989' first='Emery' last='Thury'] - Watertown - 5'11" F   Emery is an underrated asset in the 2025 class right now and has caught my attention all summer. On defense, she anticipates extremely well and uses her length to create a lot of tipped passes and turnovers for her opponent. She is a physical player who can play in the post and keep people off the block and does a nice job of blocking out and rebounding as well. She can get out and run with or without the ball in her hands and converts a lot of turnovers to points for her team. On offense, she has great vision, finds ways to get to her spots to score, and can score on all levels. She can post up and demonstrates great poise and footwork in finding ways to finish at the basket. Her speed and instincts give her a great off-the-dribble game as she gets to the rack and finishes often. She has a nice shot from the outside which balances her game out well and makes her a true offensive threat. Emery plays the game with high intensity and should be on a lot of radars as one of the best players in many games this summer.   [player_tooltip player_id='613984' first='Avery' last='Reitz'] - Sioux Falls Chrisitan - 5'10" F   Avery is a talented athlete that does a lot of things well with a very balanced game on both ends. A nice mid-range jump shooting game, the ability to attack and get shots in the paint off the dribble, and range out to the 3-point line give her a complete offensive skillset. She moves well without the ball and understands how to be effective in a motion offense. On defense she is a long athlete that plays hard, giving opponents a tough time trying to be effective in scoring. She can block shots, snag steals, and does a lot of the little things that often go unnoticed in helping teams win games.   [player_tooltip player_id='329050' first='Maya' last='Nelson'] - Sioux Falls Christian - 5'6" G   Maya is an extemely intelligent basketball player with point guard instincts. When the ball is in her hands the offense gets organized and her teammates get better. An elite passer with a selfless attitude, she is always finding ways to get her teammtes open shots. Pair this with the ability to knock down open shots for herself and you have a really productive offensive player. She has excellent handles, a nice jump shot, and makes smart decisions with the ball each possession. Defensively she can pressure the ball and moves well to keep her girl in front and guarded.   [player_tooltip player_id='448046' first='Katie' last='Vander Leest'] - Sioux Falls Christian - 5'8" G   Katie is another talented guard from Sioux Falls Christian that does a really nice job handling the basketball, plays with high intensity, and can knock down shots. She has point guard abilities with a variety of ball-handling moves allowing her to protect the basketball as well as make effective moves to go by her defender. Great communication, basketball instincts, and leadership traits make Katie a really good teammate who does a lot of things to help her team win games. Defensively she does a nice job balancing ball pressure with keeping her girl in front of her body and is a very effective 1 on 1 defender.   [player_tooltip player_id='245639' first='Isabelle' last='Bloker'] - Sioux Valley - 5'5" G   Isabel can flat-out shoot the basketball from outside the arc! She has a really consistent delivery with a common set point each time, plenty of arc, and a consistent finish on the follow-through. Her range is impressive and she is capable of going on runs where she knocks down 3 or 4 in a row, and is capable of scoring a ton of points from beyond the arc in a game. An outside sniper threat for this squad she hits timely shots in a lot of situations for her team.   [player_tooltip player_id='329049' first='Ryan' last='Hanssen'] - Lennox - 5'10" F   Ryan is an excellent athlete that has all the physical and mental tools necessary to succeed at the high school level and beyond. She has a smooth left-handed jump shot and can knock it down from beyond the arc. She does an excellent job of attacking down-the-lane lines and finishing shots whether open or with traffic. A solid rebounder and an athletic defender who can defend multiple positions. Keep an eye on Ryan as a high-level prospect who will look to take her career to a higher level.   [player_tooltip player_id='304525' first='Brynn' last='Vanbockern'] - Harrisburg - 5'7" G   Brynn is a talented shooter from beyond the arc and continues to evolve her offensive game this summer as she has attacked more and done a nice job of finishing shots in the paint. Her jump shot is steady and she can knock down a lot of outside shots in a hurry. On defense, she uses her length to get after people, tip passes, and help her squad get stops on that end. You can see the confidence in this young lady building and she looks poised for a great summer!   [player_tooltip player_id='658983' first='Emma' last='Spilde'] - Arlington - 5'7" F   Emma is a solid role player who works hard on the boards, moves the ball well, and can defend and rebound. She is capable of scoring at the basket with a post-up game if has a smaller guard defending her. She's a physical finisher around the rim who uses her body well to create space. On defense, she works her tail off and is a solid 1 v 1 defender as she plays with physicality and unselfishness. Emma is a developmental prospect that is working hard to improve her game and better herself before next season!   [player_tooltip player_id='317857' first='Adison' last='Moore'] - Iroquois/Lake Preston - 5'6" G   Adi Moore is an intriguing prospect who has a great scoring game and plays in attack mode every game all game. She can handle the basketball, has great shooting range with the confidence to light it up from deep, and plays aggressively on both ends of the floor. She has a fundamentally sound jump shot and does a great job preparing to shoot getting her hands and feet ready before the ball arrives. On defense, she uses her athleticism and competitive nature to pressure the ball and make her opponent uncomfortable. Adi has all the physical tools and the mindset to play at the next level.
