Continue ReadingCooper was an absolute thief against Fannin County. Any ball that was within her reach, Delaney swiped it. Her length and athleticism coupled with her aggressiveness was too much for the Rebels to handle. It was a great showing for Cooper as she proved that her defense could impact a game while not having to worry about scoring. Delaney scored just once on an And-1 transition layup, but collected 4 assists and 5 steals over the course of her platoon work.
Bella is the tone setter for Alexander. Her energy is contagious. Often the smallest player on the floor, Italiano is a sparkplug with her hustle. She gets after it on defense, is a sneaky good rebounder and looked improved as a confident playmaker. Bella created for others with one-handed passes off the dribble. As she always tends to do, the stat sheet stuffer filled up the box score against Harrison with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.
MeMe brings it every time out. There is never a game where you don’t take notice of Whitehead’s heart and hustle. The notorious high-motor wing is a great rebounder and a vicious defender. She put up 7 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a win over Cartersville to open camp.
I absolutely love how Laura pursues rebounds and battles inside even though she is rarely ever the tallest player on the court. She is an unsung hero with what she does on the glass and defensively. Over three games, Laura pulled down an average of 8 rebounds. Laura’s energy in the paint helps make up for Carrollton’s lack of impactful rotational size.
