Continue ReadingBasit was a monster on the glass in a win over Lanier. Standing 6-foot-1 with strength and mobility, Amelia was able to earn position inside and gobble up putbacks. She showcased a mid-range jumper from the baseline and helped push the ball in transition in spurts.
Highlights
Heather Burt
Heather Burt
Heather was effective in spurts. She has a high skill level that can catch opponents off guard. Burt has nimble feet within 10-feet of the hoop. She is good at rolling out of screens and can use her size to clear space for offensive rebounds. I liked how vocal Heather was on defense. She helped anchor the interior, blocking a few shots over the day.
Journi Harris
Journi Harris
Journi is sneaky good. She has a powerful frame and knows how to use it. She seals hard and gets consistently deep position in the paint. Harris uses her shoulders well to disengage potential shot blockers and score through their chests.
The Class A D-I Player of the Year had an easy breezy performance in a route of Lanier. Wyatt rebounded, scored on the block and sank mid-range jumpers. Her touch from 15-feet is impressive and her knack for stepping up in big games was no more apparent than when she carried the Knights to a state championship, coming from behind to force and win in overtime. Tuning up for the GBCA, Wyatt tallied 8 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals against the Longhorns.
