No player had more momentum going into last season than Cece, who had just stolen the spotlight and taking home the "Most Underrated" award at Overtime Select, heading into her junior season. One that started with a much-anticipated matchup with [player_tooltip player_id='899789' first='Morghan' last='Reckley'] and Sandy Creek to start the season. In that game, Dennis scored 43 points, grabbed ten boards, and dished out six assists. A few days later folks' worst fears were confirmed as everyone learned she had indeed suffered a season-ending injury during that game. Here we are, a year later, and Dennis recently committed to Auburn University to continue her academic and athletic career. She is the number one ranked senior in the state for a reason and I expect her to have Creekside competing for another state championship at the season's end.

Parker made a very wise decision back in the Spring and selected Indiana University as her college home after being recruited hard by almost every school in the ACC and SEC along with a number of other schools in the Big Ten. Parker will be a great fit for the Hoosiers as she shoots the ball from the perimeter as well as any big in the country, a skill that made her the priority of a lot of schools. When I saw River Ridge in June at the GYBC event at Lakepoint, Parker operated a lot more in the post than I had seen in the past with good results on the offensive. She has the size and definitely the skill to be an interior scorer in Bloomington as well. Before she departs for college though, Parker and River Ridge will try to end her career with another deep run in the postseason.

In just a few weeks, Nimah will travel to Singapore to represent Nigeria at the 2026 Basketball Without Borders Next Up Camp put on by FIBA in conjunction with the NBA. This coming off of a Summer playing well for her national team in the Ivory Coast at the FIBA U18 Afrobasket helping to bring home a silver medal. Physically, Nimah could play in college right now. She is a very gifted athlete and a standout in the classroom. It was very fitting (pun intended) that she chose Princeton as her home for the next four years. She finished the season averaging over a double-double (20 ppg/11 rpg) while leading Alexander to a very impressive 21-7 record a year ago. I expect her and Alexander to advance further in the tournament this year.

Bass, another of the very best 2027's in Georgia, did her due diligence and chose the Wofford Terriers over schools like Samford, UT-Chattanooga, Jacksonville State, and others at the end of July. It was not a coincidence that I saw Bass play some excellent basketball at Wofford's team camp a month earlier in June. She was also exceptional at the GYBC Live event at Lakepoint in June. Carly has been consistently very good for both Sequoyah and the Southern Starz EYBL program in Alabama. Last season, Carly averaged just under 20 points per game and just over six rebounds per contest while shooting a very impressive 40% from the field. Bass has the chance to have an outstanding career after high school in Spartanburg and potentially play professionally somewhere if she chooses to.

I am not sure there is a player in the Peach State who can get from point A to point B dribbling a basketball faster than [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last='']. She has always had more than impressive athleticism that is impossible to miss, but she has turned herself into a consistent, still-improving shooter from the perimeter. Deyva is one of the harder players in the state for opposing players to keep in front of them and has been for a few years, but her maturity with the basketball and understanding how to change speeds has taken her game to another level.
Weaver played five positions for Morrow in June at the GYBC Live event at Lakepoint, but most of that time was spent at the point guard position where she looked calm and composed for a player with her height. Janiyah initiated and facilitated the offense well, while also getting to her spots and scoring in the half-court when necessary. Weaver was very effective slashing and finishing at the rim and looked comfortable taking and making shots from outside. Defensively, Weaver used her wingspan to block and alter several shots and also got out into the passing lane and caused deflections and steals. Morrow is a very talented team that has a chance to make some noise late in the season. Weaver's ability to impact the game in so many ways is a big reason why. IT will be very interesting to see what position she plays at North Carolina A&T.

After seeing her play with Essence at the first travel ball tournament of this year in Florida, it was obvious to me just how elite of a scorer she is on the high school level. She has averaged double figures every year at Woodward from her freshman season (10.9 ppg) to her junior season a year ago where she finished the season averaging 23 points and eight rebounds while shooting an unheard of 56% from the field. Memphis is the only offer listed on her social media, but I would be shocked if other schools have not done the same.
I have talked with close to a handful on national scouts about the 2030 class in Georgia. There may not be a better group in one state anywhere else in America. Kennedi seems to be the player whom the scouts have identified as potentially the best long-term. Physically, I am not sure you could ask for more at 6'4 heading into high school with excellent mobility, agility, and quickness. Harris has worked very hard on her skills since I saw her three years ago training at Pitts in the sixth grade. She is nowhere near as good as she will be down the road with more time spent on development and valuable experience gained. She is willing to work and the other stuff you cannot teach or coach. With five Power Four offers in hand already, it would not surprise me at all to see that number double or triple by season's end.

Hutcherson has quietly put together a very impressive career at Lee County, tucked away in the southwestern part of the state. Camya eclipsed 1,000 points as a junior while also being the main playmaker for her teammates, something she does with ease no matter the setting. Last season at the She Got Game Classic I watched her take over a very close game while helping lead her team to a victory. Camya has made 57 and 58 three point shots respectively the last two seasons and I expect that trend to continue. I saw an impressive increase in scoring from Hutcherson from the midrange and at the rim over the summer with Southeast United as well. She recently committed to Coastal Georgia over several other schools who had extended offers.
