Makenzi Golden-6’2 C (Cy Fair Premier 2025 National) 2025
Golden was close to 24K inside the paint and please remember I’m old school and love to see #THRO WBA CK things, like “hands and footwork” as well as positioning under the basket for rebounding, she showed both yet she also did a good job defending inside the paint along with scoring around the basket, putbacks included
Arlyssia Klein-6’0 PF (Breeze 17U) 2025
Klein is “long and athletic” which is the base yet she’s also standing at “the magic number” so when you factor in her strength, she overpowers defenders inside the paint to score, yes after contact, but she also scored facing the basket. I watched her go baseline to score, that was nice and her rebounding was solid on both ends
Marckalia Celestine-6’1 PF (Cy Fair Premier 16U) 2025
Celestine was inadvertently omitted from my last Top 100 update and her sending me messages going after the ball off the rim had me smiling. She goes hard, on both ends, love her variety of moves to score around the basket, with either hand and after the lick but her defense both inside and outside the paint was nice, and so was her playing the passing lane
Reagan Stephenson-6’1 PF ( SETX Elite ) 2024
Stephenson looked good at last season’s #TJShowcase and when I say pleasant surprise, I’m not kidding. Her improvement from a year ago shows she’s been working and her stepping outside the paint to defend and block shots were among my highlights. So was her scoring around the basket with the turnaround jumper, plus she dropped it facing the basket. Her rebounding was also good, on both ends
Mackenzie Espinosa Mackenzie Espinosa 6'0" Chapel Hill | 2024 TX -6’0 PF (TX Platinum 2025 S40 Dollar) 2024
Espinosa is also long and athletic, still the base folks, why, because it’s a profile I love to evaluate, o do many college coaches and they offer next-level opportunities. She rebounds and runs the floor, on both ends yet she maneuvers around defenders inside the paint to score. She also defends inside the paint yet a big plus is she can drop the mid to long-range jumper
Naya Burleson Naya Burleson 5'11" | PF Buda Hays | 2025 State TX -6’0 PF (2025 Stat Elite Brittany) 2025
Burleson was recently added to the Top 100, she caught my eye last season and both of them during her Hays high school squad’s deep playoff run yet she’s more poised to go along with being “long and athletic” and watching her score in the flow or just take over offensively on the inside was nice. She also did a good job defensively, timing on blocking shots as well as rebounding stood out
Destiny Arinze Destiny Arinze 5'10" | PF Sunnyvale | 2026 State TX -5’10 C/PF ((TX Platinum 2026 S40 Bartlett) 2026
Arinze was also omitted from PGH Texas Top 100 yet the next update, she’ll be there. Being “there” is just what she does on the court because her lateral movement on defense inside the paint as well as how she recovers INSTINCTIVELY to block shots as well as rebounding has always been something that grabbed me about her game. Her scoring powerfully with players literally hanging on her has shot up, and so has her jumper
Macie Upshaw Macie Upshaw 6'2" | PF Round Rock | 2025 TX -6’1 PF/C ( Rock Nation 2025) 2025
Upshaw keeps moving UP my list as she simply is on the verge of breaking out in a big way. Stands over “the magic number”, check. “long and athletic” double-check, yet check this out. Her power in the paint be it rebounding on both ends or scoring after contact has improved since the last time I saw her, and so has her defense. One other thing, her timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots and handle the ball afterward tells me a lot
