Marleigh Henry – Westhope/Newburg – Marleigh is a 5’6 guard/forward that got her first experience on Varsity this year averaging close to 9 minutes a game. She showed in several games that she can be a quick spark off the bench being able to come in and score immediately. She averaged 2 points, 1 rebound a game while shooting 29% from the field. With her first year in the book, I anticipate Marleigh to have an even bigger role next season with the possibility to start with the loss of Ellie Braaten and Karen Solis.
Brooklyn Docktor – Harvey – The Docktor is in the house! (Maybe not her nickname, but should totally be that) is a 5’3 guard that saw Varsity for the first time this year. She played in nearly half of the games and in some way contributing in each one. This past year Brooklyn averaged 2 points, 1 rebound and nearly 1 steal a game. She shot 34% from the field. I will note that in the 10 games she played the Hornets went 6-4 totaling for a 8-15 record on the season.
Kaitlyn Maasjo – Enderlin – Kaitlyn is a 5’4 guard that’s been playing varsity since the eighth grade. Last year she averaged a little over a point and rebound a game. This year nearly increasing both categories by a point. When you tally her per 32 she’s sitting at over 5 points, 5 rebounds and nearly 2 steals a game. A huge jump that’s waiting to happen. On the year she shot 31% from the field taking solid shots when getting a chance too. A lot of upsides statistically for Maasjo and it’ll be exciting to see how she contributes to the Eagles this season.
Karina Olson – Enderlin – Karina is another Eagle that got some playing time on varsity this year. She averaged a little over 5 minutes putting up about 1 point, rebound, assist and steal a game. She shot 33% from the field and her per 32 numbers show she’s a workhorse in the making. A player that can contribute in a multitude of ways and this season will get a chance to show she’s a defensive prowess.
Alyssa Hoyles – Drayton – Alyssa is a 5’5 wing player that’s played varsity ball since the eighth grade. What I like about this player is she’s not afraid to get after the ball. She’s not going to hurt you immensely offensively like a couple of the others, but she’s not going to let you score the ball easily either. Moves her feet well and has good lateral agility. Alyssa will play a bigger role coming off the bench this year and it might be locking up the hot hand on the court.
