The National Championship wrapped up the second evaluation period in July in Orlando. In a challenging top bracket, Miami Suns Team Fowles 17U EYBL advanced to the final 4 in Orlando.
Eris Lester Eris Lester 5'10" | SF Montverde Academy | 2024 State FL – 5’11 Guard – Class of 2024
Eris Lester Eris Lester 5'10" | SF Montverde Academy | 2024 State FL just jumps out within 5 minutes of watching her play. She is super smooth and and has elite level athleticism with major bounce. Throughout Miami Suns Team Fowles games in Orlando, Lester continued to be impactful in all aspects of the game, as a penetrator, rebounder, perimeter shooter, and defender. She stays active on both ends of the floor and is a major impact scorer!
Kaliyah Morales Kaliyah Morales 5'7" | PG Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL – 5’9 Guard – Class of 2024
Morales played heavy minutes for the Suns at both guard positions. She handled the ball well, pushed in transition, and showcased a mid-range game and ability to get to the rim. When attacking off the bounce, she displayed a crafty ability to finishe around the rim with both hands.
Kayla Nelms Kayla Nelms 6'1" | PF Miami Country Day | 2024 State FL – 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
Nelms has been with the Miami Suns since middle school and she concluded her Suns career showcasing why a number of college programs would like to see her in their uniform next season. She is a big presence in the paint with a strong skill set and a very unique ability to play inside and out. She is an excellent 3-point shooter and can not be left open at the top of the key. In Orlando, she was really good versus Drive Nation knocking down 5+ 3-pointers while still playing strong in the paint and finishing versus contact. She had a great July and was a statistical leader for the Suns and in her in multiple statistical categories.
Shanaii Gamble Shanaii Gamble 5'10" | SF Somerset Academy Silver Palms | 2024 State FL – 6’1 Forward – Class of 2024
Gamble was one of my favorite players last year and after suffering an injury, was back on the court healthy and playing well. She has a very intriguing body with an excellent combination of height, athleticism, and strength. She plays hard on both ends of the floor and is an excellent rebounder. Her versatility is on display when she grabs defensive rebounds and has ability to advance the ball and start the break. Look for Gamble to be a stock riser in the class of 2024 rankings and a college prospect that may be flying under the radar.
Dianka Hardisson Dianka Hardisson 5'5" | PG Somerset Academy Silver Palms | 2025 State FL – 5’7 Guad – Class of 2025
Hardisson got hot versus Drive Nation, shooting a high percentage from 3. Look for her to be a stock riser in the class of 2025 rankings with her ability to shoot the 3, put it to the floor off the bounce and defend. She played well in July at both guard positions and played with a ton of confidence and was not afraid or back down from the stage or the moment. Her play, showcased the Suns depth, and why they had so much success in the back half of July.
Abby Price Abby Price 5'11" | SG Westminster Academy | 2025 State FL – 5’11 Guard – Class of 2025
Price showcased her ability to knocked down 3s off catch and shoot situations. With the Suns typically having multiple penetrators on the court at the same time, Price did good job spacing the floor and staying ready. She shot a high percentage from 3 and was able to put the ball to the floor for 1-2 dribble pull up or penetrate and kick when they took her shot away.
Sofiah Miller Sofiah Miller 6'1" | PF Sarasota | 2025 State FL – 6’2 Forward – Class of 2025
Miller came off the bench on this loaded roster, playing spot minutes at both the forward and center position. She as great strength and mass and can play inside and out. She on multiple occasions stepped out to the perimeter and knocked down open shots as well as went inside and mixed it up. Down low in the paint is where she is most impactful with the ability to post up on the block and play with her back to basket as well as control the boards on both offensive and defensive ends.
