The first half of July is in the books, and I'd like to highlight a few kids who helped themselves the most in the first live period down in Chicago.

[player_tooltip player_id='207069' first='Ally' last='Timm']

I've gone from not knowing what to expect from Timm game to game to thoroughly enjoying her two-way ability and all the little things she does to impact a game this summer. She doesn't show any panic and seems to make plays whenever her team needs it, and she has the talent to excel at the next level physically and skill-wise. If she keeps playing how she has been, Timm will be a steal in the recruiting cycle for the 2024 class. That's how highly I think of how she's playing right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='521876' first='Paige' last='Seckar']

The impact that Seckar has on a game is vast. She's been one of the premier defensive players in the FVA the past few seasons, and her offensive game has steadily improved since she got to Oshkosh West. She's been a significant contributor to one of the best defenses in the Fox Valley and has helped her team compete against some of the best teams in the state night in and night out. On her [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] team, she joined a great team and made them better, which isn't easy.

[player_tooltip player_id='209597' first='Savannah' last='James']

The way James plays is fun to watch. I don't know what her top speed compared to others is, but she has ways of creating space that few others can pull off. James can create space in a phone booth and is a tough shot maker. There have been times when her team looked outmatched on paper, but when James is having a day, she changes the course of a game. I believe she can turn losses into wins, and the more consistent she gets, the more coaches will love her game, and that's already happening.

[player_tooltip player_id='338947' first='Lauren' last='Strifling']

When I heard about some of the changes that Strifling's Chapman Elite team would have this summer, I thought she had an opportunity to turn heads. After this past live period in Chicago, Strifling received her first D2 offer from a good Lewis program. She's made shots at a high rate and has shown the versatility to defend in the paint and perimeter. She's had excellent limited minutes at Homestead and with Chapman last summer, but she made the most of her opportunity this summer.
