Last season there were over 750 teams that competed throughout 3-4 days, between the three tournaments being played at McCormick Place in the city of Chicago. The three tournaments being Nike TOC, Nike EYBL Nationals, and the USJN Premier Showcase. As of today, there are currently over 825+ teams that are registered to compete in these three tournaments. Below are just some of the teams that I am going to make a priority in seeing compete this weekend. Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
– Wisconsin Blizzard 2026 Hawley –
Team Wisconsin Blizzard 2026 Hawley is one that has not seen many losses this season. As a matter of fact, every time I’ve seen them compete, they have won by double digits in convincing fashion. This team is highlighted by 2 star guards in Rayanna Jenkins and Lily Kejo. As long as both of those two can stay efficient, and have everyone else chip in around them simultaneously, they are going to have a nice weekend all together.
– Iowa Intensity 2024 –
I haven’t had a chance to see the Iowa Intensity play this season yet but that all changes this weekend. The Intensity are a very young team that is a work in progress. They have some good weapons and quality players when it come to the skill side of the game but they still have a lot to learn. Their star is one by the name of Breckyn Schilling Breckyn Schilling 5'11" | SF North Mahaska | 2025 State IA . Schilling as of most recent, has received a full-ride offer to D2-Western Colorado, while on her official visit last week. I expect this tournament to be big time for a player like Schilling, while she attempts to help her team compete. This group will definitely be a must-see for myself at some point.
– Waukee Jam 2025 –
The Waukee Jam girls basketball team has put together a nice roster and an even nicer spring season while competing this year. The Jam are an exciting group with solid coaching and good knowledge of the game. They are guard heavy and that is going to be even more of the story for this upcoming weekend. I am interested to see if the guards from this team can carry them to a few victories. With everything that I have seen up to this point, they are more than capable but we will just have to wait and see.
– Team Iowa Blue Star 2027 –
Team Iowa Blue Star 2027 is a team that has all the right pieces to put together a great weekend against some elite competition. This Team Iowa squad is filled with point guards who can defend and create, shooting guards who can put it in from deep, and forwards/posts that are physical and dominate. I don’t know the field of teams that this group will have to play but I’m sure there are going to be able to hold their own. I am curious to see what players are going to bring it and make the most of their opportunities on this stage and what players are going to have a harder time. Either way, it won’t be due to lack of effort by any means.
– Chicago Hoops Express 17U –
Chicago Hoops Express 17U will compete in the USJN Premier Showcase this upcoming weekend but don’t get it twisted, I’ve seen this group a number of times this season and they could compete VS any level of competition in the building this weekend, throughout all tournaments. A team that has a roster with some of the best guards out of the state of Illinois, mixed in with some athletic forwards and centers. Not to mention, that they have some players that can light it up from deep in the meantime when given the opportunity. CHE 17U likes to pressure their opponents, now we will just have to see who can handle that pressure, and who is going to fold.
